Pipes:

"As liberator of the country, they must respond to Iraqi wishes, which means getting out fast."

"Plan for the long haul...Plan for a gradual transition."

How is it America is swooning for antidemocratic neocolonialists? What the hell is going on?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!

That is a lot of "A"s.

I will now stay out of this thread for a while so I can watch with amusement when a few people (you know whom Im talking about) hop in. Then I will return to rip apart much of they say. Maybe even the pronouns. :)

I'd love to hear some comments on what he actually says in the article. I think he's at least acknowledging a Catch-22. Anyone have any other ideas?

I think the major trend is that the neocons who got us into this are making it up as they go along now, devoid of a workable plan: Thus far, we have colonialism without the profit. Now they're waiting on the backlash, to blame the failure on.
