By the way, if you're ever in the heart of Melbourne, check out the Aston Martin shop. Absolutely amazing.

Aston Martins may not be the fastest or most economical cars out there. But there aren't many companies that can match them for gorgeous designs.

One of my personal favorites is Big Red.
http://www.shocking.com/~z29/113_0504_red02_z.jpg

It's the body of a '69 Camaro dropped over a tube chassis, with a 540 cubic inch big block engine, making about 800 horsepower.

See it in action in the 1989 Silver State open road race. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJTDcMWsqd0) It's impressive, even though the video is low quality.

I think the "joking" part is that it has "bomb resistant armour" and "bulletproof glass", yet it's a convertible.

I wonder if JFK's convertible was beefed up with the same? Didn't do him any good if it was.

Still, it is one fine looking automobile.

It was and it had a bullet proof canopy. Which sadly was not used that day...

I've driven a few these Lotus things, they're really basic. You need to be a midget to fit into them.
After a day in one of these things I wanted to drive a real car again these cars are toys.

their specs are pretty good for some models, which ones did you drive and didn't they go fast enough?

The Lotus Elise and Lotus Exige were fast but tiny too small for a 6-foot3 guy like me.
In the soft top my head hit the roof causing a lump in the roof, my ass wouldn’t fit in the wraparound seat and I’m not fat. These are just carbon fiber Go-carts that weigh nothing and have huge engines. Nothing in the way of luxuries its just something to go fast in but you wouldn’t want to drive across the continent in one.
The Lotus Esprit was okay size wise but it’s an English version of a Ferrari. And I would rather drive a Ferrari.

One of my favorite Supercars is the GT Ford

http://media.techeblog.com/images/kitcar_1.jpg

It’s big fast and comfortable and my favorite classic car's are the Eagle Sports E-Type Jaguars.

Those cars may be fast and what not, but few cars have more class and sophistication than the Maybach

I used to own a car just like this one. A 1968 Firebird. It was the same color as well. It was more my father's generation but for some silly reason I really really wanted one when I was in highschool.

Those British cars look nice but they almost always have electrical problem. Bentleys, Astons, Jags--all of them. Nothing but trouble.:(
I still like Ferraris the best. The Italians make awesome cars.

It's only the TVR marque that has had problems with their electrics. None of the rest you mentioned have really suffered.

Yes, Astons. I made a typo. Big whoop. It is NOT a ridiculous assertion. I have lots of friends with British cars. They say they're mostly crap. The Aston breaks down every time the guy drives it. The Lotus is in the shop more than on the road. Same with the Jags.

Luckily for me, the Gilmore Car Museum (http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/) and the Studebaker Museum (http://www.studebakermuseum.org/) are both less than an hr from where I live.

1953 Studebaker Starliner. I love Studebakers. Especially their trucks.

That one's nice too, but I'd prefer a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 as a second choice.

As for oldies, the Ferrari 575M Maranello is a pretty awesome car.
