I've heard about the gods in Sumerian, Egyptian, Persian, Babylonian, Norse, Celtic, Greek and Roman mythology, but coming across dates is rare. Anyone know when any of these mythologies began?

Also, is Ishtar the oldest known deity? Does she have any connection to the Dark Mother of Africa?
