If you caught the latest popular science, you'll know what algea bio fuel is.

If not, type "algea biofuel, popular science" ino google.

I think it'll be many a year before we can yeild a strong enough algea that can produce the vegitable oils needed to run a car, and only norweigian scientists have done it. But, it's about the best idea i've heard to petroleum substitutes.

Along with the 30 story skyscraper farms to save farmland severely needed to supply americans with food... just cool stuff, but kinda al gorey

Hey, don't question Al Gore, we must ALL be aware of man-bear-pig!

South Park, anyone? :D

But hey, could be kinda nifty to have a car's gas tank replaced by an algea septic thingy so that you can fuel your car with your garbage. Or perhaps not, a bit messy, but still, a far-fetched idea for a self-dependent fuel source?

But I still don't get it, why bio fuel? Bio fuel still makes greenhouse gases, no matter what way you slice it, perhaps we need to be investing in systems with significantly less pollution, if any?

Well, bio fuel is very important because, we can produce enough algea in america, to be self suffiecient. It's also becoming popular because huge companies are seeing an interest in biofuel. That's only because there is money in it too. If something better comes along, these project gets scrapped. If gas gets cheapier, it's gonna be cut on funding by a little bit too much for it to ever do any good in our lifetime.

Isn't algae the leading factor in nature in changing Co2 into oxygen? I don't want to die of oxygen depletion in the distant future.

yea, but it's vegitable oil isn't a clean burning substance. it's just renewable
