Xev and gendanken will insult people mercilessly, but they mix quite a bit of brain into their insults, and if you bother to read them carefully you'll notice they're not exactly stupid. Some of the posts are pretty damn informative.

Oh, and the reason why Porfiry is our lord and master is because he does something that's fairly important to Sciforums. He, uh, owns the website and pays to keep it running from his own pocket. That's relatively important. ;)
