View Full Version : Are you German?
Dreamwalker 11-20-04, 01:11 PM So, there are some other threads asking the same question, only the country differs. Well, here is mine, are you German?
I guess that I am the only one around, but that's not keeping me from posting this anyway. :p
Damn, and of course there is a typo in my poll... :(
sargentlard 11-20-04, 01:18 PM I wish I was.
spuriousmonkey 11-20-04, 02:13 PM I have an umlaut in my last name.
sorry i dont where lederhosen
Bunny_Peaches 11-20-04, 02:24 PM i lived there for 11 years ..
Athelwulf 11-20-04, 02:27 PM I'm about 7/16 German, last time I did the math. So, ya could say I'm German by descent. And as soon as I know enough German, ya wouldn't be able to tell the differrence.
spuriousmonkey 11-20-04, 02:47 PM Besides having an umlaut in my surname I also had a german girlfriend once.
Belgium beer is better than german beer.
Dreamwalker 11-20-04, 02:55 PM Belgium beer is better than german beer. I object. BTW, we also have pretty good vodka. :p
Dreamwalker 11-20-04, 02:57 PM sorry i dont where lederhosen
Heh, neither do I, that's the sole right of the Bavarians. You know, they call themself a free state after all...
My mother immigrated from Germany when she was 15 but i was born here an my father was born in America. So for me no.
spuriousmonkey 11-20-04, 03:13 PM I object.
Your objection is noted and declared unsubstantial, just like german beer.
Good Latvian beer is the best! :p
Truenemo1889 11-20-04, 06:10 PM i am german
Dr Lou Natic 11-20-04, 06:18 PM My ancestry is half german half british.
I guess I get my sense of humour from the british side and my genocidal tendencies from the german side.
I'm a little German, and I'm also a little Polish.
Dreamwalker 11-20-04, 07:13 PM Oh, I am not all alone, good to know.

That had no more grammatical errors than it had spelling errors. Ya just forgot the "t" at the end of "nicht" and the "s" in the middle of "Deutsch".
Sorry to burst yer bubble . . . :D
curioucity 11-21-04, 01:47 AM Hey, bursted bubble can be pretty sights sometimes, ya know :D
Silverback 11-21-04, 03:08 AM Is this a question of citizenship or of ethnic origin?
Oh well, either way is No for me...
Dreamwalker 11-21-04, 04:21 AM Both. If you are citizen of Germany, you are German, if you are born here, you are also German.
I guess I'm the only French, so I don't need to make such thread :D

I'm Dutch and used to live 2,70 meters below sea level. but the global warmers promised a sea level rise so I fled to Germany immediately and reside now in Germanies highest city, I believe, at some 950 meters elevation on the Schwabische alb.
vslayer 11-22-04, 03:05 PM according to the regional conucil, i am currently 6m above sea level
