Today I discovered the armpit gene.

Here is the proof:

It's the armpit of a E11.5 mouse.

I will now knock out this gene and create a line of armpitless mice. Who ever said I didn't contribute to the progress of science and scientific knowledge? (->valich)

This finding will revolutionize human society. Once the armpit gene is inactivated in trangenic human babies there will be no need anymore for deodorant.

Imagine how much money you will save each year not buying deodorant. Imagine how this will effect the environment. No more spraying the ozon layer to bits with your CFK loaded spraycans (well, they don't sell those anymore but it is the idea that counts). Imagine the time you save in the shower not washing your armpit! Imagine the amounts of soap you save each year.

I would imagine it will take 3 years maximum before I get my nobel price.

Alternatively, you could overexpress the gene and create ectopic armpits. If you develop extra armpits you may, perhaps, also develop extra arms. Think of the advantages!

Think how many armpit genes an octopus must have--good thing it lives underwater, or it would have to go through bucketfuls of deoderant every week. :D
