In a stark warning, he said their supplies were running out and urged them to reform and diversify their economies. He particularly mentioned women's rights, saying they were key to building powerful economies. He cited Egypt as a model for the development of professional women, girls going to school in Afghanistan and women joining political parties in Iraq and Kuwait.

In an apparent criticism aimed at Saudi Arabia, he told the forum: "This is a matter of morality and of basic math. No nation that cuts off half its population from opportunities will be as productive or prosperous as it could be. Women are a formidable force, as I have seen in my own family and my own administration. As the nations of the Middle East open up their laws and their societies to women, they are learning the same thing."

Yes I love it, when after all the vitriol heaped on President Bush, by Syzygy, and the left, as a ignorant, immoral, iniquitous, peccant, reprobate, a stupid ill informed, know nothing, now he wish's to use the President as a intelligent, knowledgeable, alert, bright, keen, quick, quick-witted, source to confirm the peak oil theory.

Oil has held down women in the ME in the modern era.

I still think Bush is an idiot - average at best. He probably fired his old speech writer.

Bush has also been a supporter of wind energy, does that mean wind energy is wrong? No, it just means bush is only wrong 95% of the time rather then 100%.

What surprising is Bush has not been telling the USA that they need to change and how, Bush has been all words and no action on this issue, same with global warming (which he has also acknowledge).
