When I was in college, I think at least half of male and female cheerleaders are dating amoung themselves.

If I were to join our cheerleading squad (which btw lacks, except for one or two, intelligent and/or attractive girls. You'd at least hope for attractive) I would lose all of the manly prowess that goes with being a sophomore.

I will never see the point in considering cheerleading a sport. From all outward appearances a group of girls gets together in similar outfits and dance around singing little rhymes that are supposed to rally the team they're cheering for. I think. But I don't think it ever works. I consider it a joke...girls who play sports like soccer or basketball are waaaaaay cooler.

i think that in a competition setting, cheering can be considered a sport. But when its just girls cheering on the sidelines of some game, its not a sport, its an annoyance, and (if your lucky) a distraction.

I know this woman who is a cheering coach for a grammar school squad, and she always tries to convince guys to do it. She told me that there were alot of male cheerleaders at her college and that most of them were straight. And that all the ladies LOVED them.

Pollux and I do swing dance classes at schoola nd the ladies love that as well. ;)

That friend that mario had was pretty hot though, I kinda laughed every time I saw her walking around with her four-foot boyfriend, he looked like he had just graduated the second grade. Yeah, cheerleaders are the leaders of the unique concept of "team spirit". It means they are there to pump up the crowd such that the team might gain an advantage due to crowd noise. They are generally hot chicks who are scantily clad. This is both excellent and sad. It is excellent because, well... scantily clad hot chicks.. come on. It is sad because well "team spirit" is SO horrifyingly shallow in general. I've never known a cheerleader who had much depth, but I haven't met all cheerleaders.

I had a lot of cheerleading friends. Two in particular stand out in my mind, Katie B. and Bridgett M. They were great friends, I wonder what ever happened to them.

Cheerleading actually works quite well in America (and I say America because Canada only has one NBA team and the CFL is too fucking cold most of the year to have real cheerleading and hockey is too good a sport to need cheerleading). There's hot chicks with big tits dancing. The people in the stands have (generally) been drinking a little. So hot chicks with big tits tell them to yell and scream and it sounds like a good idea. Works quite well.

Are you implying "gayness" among ice skaters? Let me tell you something, Im a figure skater. Thats right. My mom's a coach (Has a master's rating, would have been in olympics long time ago if not for some circumstances). Anyway, i believe I have only met ONE of her friends that happens to be gay and is a coach. All the other guy skaters I know are not gay at all including myself. (Im not competitive, I just like to skate around though I do know how to do some stuff since my mom is a coach).

Alright, for the uninformed, the vulgar, or the narrow minded, I guess I'll set the record straight. I'm a college cheerleader. I used to play coach and umpire both football and baseball; I've been a martial artist for 15 years, and played collegiate rugby. I AM NOT GAY. I started cheering in high school, my senior year. Some friends of mine bet me I wouldn't try out, so I went out to a practice one day, and ended up accidentally fingering one of the girls. From then on it seemed like a good idea. After taking a year off at one college, I transferred and tried out at my new school. Not only are the women all hot, they're actually nice, and no, not all of them are sluts, some are in fact virgins. The ones that aren't however are a lot of fun in bed. Yeah, male cheerleaders sometimes get to sleep with the female cheerleaders; why else would you be a straight guy cheering? Sure, there are gay guys who cheer, but who cares, what and who they do is their business. Oddly enough, no one ever considers the possibility of lesbian and bisexual female cheerleaders, and let me tell you, they're out there, and they're all kinds of fun. So let's see, to sum it up, yes, there are straight guy cheerleaders out there, and yeah, sometimes we sleep with the girls. Also, I'm in the best physical shape of my life. Oh, and as for the intelligence of cheerleaders, sure, I'm not going to say there are the occasional few who would drown staring at the sky in a rainstorm, but myself, I'm almost 20 and in a year, I'll have two doctorates, one in astrophysics, and one in chaos math. Also one of my flyers (that's the cheerleading term for girls we throw in the air and fondle regularly,) just got her masters in forensics, so not all cheerleaders are idiots.

If the cheerleaders at my school weren't ratty, overweight hillbillies then I would definitely at least consider the life of humiliation that you have no doubt experienced. I think it's worth it, if in fact you are telling the truth.

During a pep rally that I was forced to attend I arrived late, so I had to sit in front of the male hillbillies of my high school. I would love to stick a cheerleader on a basketball court if only to beat the crap out of her and show her that cheerleaders can not compete in real sports. As for male cheerleaders, well, I sure as heck wouldn't date one :p If someone has so little self respect that he is willing to become a cheerleader, no girl in her right mind should have anything to do with him. I think that everyone's comments so far prove that cheerleading is not a sport. It's an excuse for girls to jump around so that guys can check them out. Is modeling a sport? I attended an all girls catholic school and so we were the cheerleaders for the all boys catholic school. There were no male cheerleaders though, just us girls...
