What the hell does "cheese" have to do with pictures!?!? :confused:


Also, in brasil, when we ake pictures we say "look at the bird!". What the hell does the bird have to do with the picture? :shrug:

my guess its like a "blue poodle" phenomenon

when you think of something and than someone tells you "blue poodle"...you are like what in the world is blue poodle so you start imaginging it and start smiling about it.

But actually...I think the reason people ask to say "say cheese" is because when the word cheese is said the muscles used to say the word match the movement of when one smiles

Good point. The word "bird" in Brasil is "passarinho", which doesn' really help the muscles. So hat is still quite a mystery... :shrug:

Yes, "Cheese" is about showing teeth in a fake smile.
I find that asking the subject to say something absurd works better, because you get genuine laughter and smiles instead.

"Say Butterflies on motorbikes!"
