I am looking for a place that sells good quality reproductions of antique Lap Desks, Writing Boxes, Writing Slopes, Fountain Pens, Ink Wells etc.

Ideally, I would like to visit the place in person (NYC area), but an online store in the US that will ship in less than a week will work fine.

I am looking for stuff in the quality and price range of this stuff (http://www.bjimportsusa.com/Products/index.cfm?CatID=150) but a place with a larger selection.

My girlfriend is quitting her job and spending the next two months writing before she goes back to school.

I am looking for a nice little "Welcome Home" gift.

THESE (http://www.hygra.com/visualwrite.html) are stunning examples (especially this one (http://www.hygra.com/wb/captain.htm[/url)) but I am not prepared to spend that much on an original Victorian Writing Box just yet.

I would like to be able to actually look at them and buy one in person, but her last day at work is about a week away and I am getting desperate.

Ebay have 145 examples of Lap Desk currently. And 38 examples of Antique Lap Desk. And 90+ examples of Writing Box and 20 examples of antique writing box. Have you looked there?

I know time is running out.
I may have to bite the bullet and get it from Ebay.
It's a shame, because there is NOTHING you can't find in NYC, you just need to know WHERE to find it, and I am having no luck searching the web for a place that has them.
Maybe I will hit the antique district on Monday morning and hope for the best.

Try this site, it might be helpful…on the side there is all different categories for Antique Dealers in NYC.
