View Full Version : Creationism does not contradict Evolutionism

What? Yes it does, you say.

I agree that we all are mechanical systems with the ability to adapt, yes, and that's how we got so many varieties of people in the world, but the creationism theory does not contradict the evolution theory at all. And I'll prove it. The bible doesn't say that we are static creatures that cannot change or adapt. It never said it, it never implied it. In fact, we are the result of interbreeding of different types of people including the Giants talked about in Genesis and many other books in the Old Testament. Look at Shaquille O'Neal (if that isn't close to a giant, I don't know what is). Seriously though, things adapt and change and become more complex, just like Boris said. But it doesn't contradict the bible at all.

We are changing and adapting, yes, but creationism never said that we are static. Just because we were created by something doesn't mean we can't change. Look at computer artificial life that scientists created with an algorithm that did allow for them to adapt, learn, and become more complex. To evolve no less. SOMEONE HAD TO PROGRAM THEM INTO EXISTENCE!!! JUST BECAUSE THEY EVOLVE DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY JUST "WERE", AND WEREN'T CREATED BY SOMEONE OR SOMETHING. ON THE CONTRARY, AU CONTRAIRE!

Adam and Eve were not the first people on earth, they were just the first ones to be created in the image of God. Oh yeah, and God is not just God the Father either. (I'm going off on a tangent here, but will get back to the subject). The Hebrew word for Christ literally means "The Word". If you read in Genesis, it says, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. In other words, Jesus is not only referred to as the son of God, but God as well. Also, in John 1, it says, "Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is himself God. He created everything there is-- nothing exists that he didn't make. Eternal life is in him, and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness-- and the darkness can never extinguish it."

With words we speak into existence (to a degree) our future. Boris said that words don't have power after I said that they did. Then what are you doing writing these funny squiggly things on the computer screen? Aren't you trying to convey ideas? Aren't ideas the foundation of reality? Why do lawyers have so much power? Because they have large guns or are ultimate fighters? No! It's because a set of rules we establish are written down and are enforced. It's intangible thoughts that make reality. Buildings, a thought in an architect's mind. Cars, the product of a myriad of people working together to come up with the engineering and body design, etc. to make it into reality. This country was only a thought in people's minds. When you watch a movie, it's the story that isn't physical that makes it interesting. Morals, love, good, evil, conflict, etc. etc.

We are more than the sum of our parts. Yes, we are ever-evolving creatures with the ability to change and grow, but we are also beyond just the physical. I've stated this over and over and over again, but it just seems like people just don't want to listen. They don't realize the power that they are missing out on. Did you know that if we had enough faith, we could literally say to a mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea!" and it would do just as you commanded! Faith love and hope are essential as humans. The greatest of these is love. Not just for yourself, but others just as you love yourself.

I mean, you can get as complex as you want, but the desire to have fun and laugh with your friends, hold your loved one's hand as she is bearing down and having your humanoid baby, or buy an ice cream cone for your daughter as you walk along the sidewalk in a park, or watching a fun movie (like the Coneheads which I'm watching as I write this) are things you cannot quantify and categorize. Well, I guess you could, but it wouldn't be very warm. I think that the problem with people is that they want to be in control of everything and know everything in a quantifiable, empirical way. Life is not like that.

I tot I taw a putty tat! I did! I did! I did taw a putty tat!

It's amusing to see an attempt to use a computational illustration of evolution at work, to discredit evolution. I guess if A implies B, and B implies C, then if we show that A does not directly imply C then it doesn't imply C at all.

The origins of life do not lie in programming, but in chemistry. Ever see crystals? Amazingly ordered and beautiful structures, with sometimes complex characteristics -- nevertheless results of sheer chemistry. Same goes for life. In fact, you could think of life as a special class of crystals.

Aren't ideas the foundation of reality?

Nope. They are derivatives of reality.

We are more than the sum of our parts.

You keep saying it, but given your failed arguments to justify it, you have no idea what it is supposed to mean.

Did you know that if we had enough faith, we could literally say to a mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea!" and it would do just as you commanded!

Hmmm..... And how many of "us" do you think we will need to succeed in that experiment? Will 1 suffice? Or maybe 10? How about 1000? Though it's an interesting theory -- and especially interesting are your motivations or unexplained evidence for proposing it. You do have some, right? Or is it just a random fantasy?

I think that the problem with people is that they want to be in control of everything and know everything in a quantifiable, empirical way. Life is not like that.

There are two types of knowledge: empirical, and bullshit. Given your choice, I must say you have strange taste.

Good for you. Now go watch your Coneheads.
