this turtle was in Natl Geographic (http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2010/04/freshwater-species/sartore-photography). It says:
Reimann's snake-necked turtle, a New Guinea native, has a seven-inch-long shell and strong jaws to crunch snails, and it smells like a skunk. "Not the prettiest snakeneck by a long way," says one scientist.
What??? Its not the prettiest? When is a turtle pretty? It's damn well the cutest though!!!
