In this case she rode Mr Trump for being compassionate and not enforcing a moralities clause int he Miss USA contract, one that predates him owning the pageant. However since the current Miss USA had been so flagrant in her violationg he had to have a press conference and srt of a mild punishment in order to salvage the image of the pageant. Rosie's comments were way out of line, same as he accusing Kelly Rippa of gaybashing, insulting Asians around the globe, and her general disregard for truth and facts. It would be fine if it was done in a funny way, but she was deliberately insulting an mean, not to mention crude.
