I saw a TV programme last night in which it was stated that there is an estimated 1 million unoccupied properties in the UK (population 60million). In some cases the local government will step in to speed up the renovation process. This is welcomed by the local residents as it restores the look of the community. The properties can then be used for rehousing. Better for everyone and a successful scheme according to the research. Is this a similar story in your country?
