If Jesus doesn't catch you, that means you didn't have enough faith. Shame on you.

We should seriously consider virtual-reality-energy-farming.

I wouldn't mind living in a fantasy world doing some karate and what-not for the rest of my days. The only work I'd have to do is create energy by laying down and processing some weird fluid/nutrient gel.

The perfect world would be a self-sufficient person living in their virtual-reality producing energy X 10000000000.

And then we can shoot them off into space until they die after living a happy life.

I don't know? Good idea? yay/nay?

Don't the laws of thermodynamics make that a less than optimal solution?

energy farms would work, but the other way around. huge solar panels to convert heat energy into energy which can be used to maintain a permanent state of hibernation while we are all plugged into the matrix. we would produce a bare minimum of pollution and unless someone allowed us to get out and breed, its just a matter of time before humans are completely eradicated and earth can return to normal.

A better idea than making an airborne variant of AIDs?
No.

We need less cooperation and more internal conflicts.

More cooperation and less internal conflict. More resources/energy spent on man's true destiny in this reality. Exploration, expansion of power.

I hope we manage to infect another planet(mars??) before we totally screw this one up or kill ourselves.

Comon people join together and be in "IT" for the humans. We are humans for crissake...more is better. The problem is we are just spinning our wheels, gaining wealth just to buy the same ol shit over and over. I want to buy a piece of mars or the moon or an opportunity to explore, not a smaller piece of land than my parents. We need more Bransons in control and less Bushes.

Time for some aggressive eugenics.

Especially the areas that are actually growing. Most smart people aren't breeding, but idiots are.

...and another world war.

WWII only killed at most 74 million people. That's far insufficient. We need a much better kind of war, like nuclear, but that has some profound disadvantages.

Perhaps nuking only the world's most populous cities, then?

I do't think any type of extremist factions could ever unite to start a world war...they're all too extreme.

All that needs to be done is a bit of lying, well quite a lot of lying.

Everybody is told to take a week off work by their employers. Nobody turns up to work the next day. During this time all of the factories, offices, buildings, transport are burnt down and any food lying around in warehouses, fields, etc is also burned. This isn't televised. What is televised is a national scale telecommunications outage and acid rain with warnings that everyone should stay inside. Later that evening, the telecommunications places are all burned.

The next day there is no tv, no shops, buildings, no police, etc. People start to panic, quite a lot kill each other, some decide to live in the woods, but most of us will die off.

This article is way behind the information curve. These idiots all know it. They keep publishing outdated predictions because they're in the business of scaring people. Frightened people buy more news.

Five years ago the statistical reductions noted that the second derivative of population had gone negative: the rate of growth was decreasing. The first derivative (the rate of growth itself) is expected to go negative toward the end of this century: the population will start to shrink instead of expanding.

The population growth rate increased abruptly with the invention of modern medicine late in the 19th century. Within a few decades the heartbreaking infant mortality that had kept population in check was slashed by antibiotics and insecticides. No one realized that people would not automatically start having fewer children just because most of them were suddenly surviving to reproductive age.

But just because they didn't start immediately doesn't mean that they wouldn't start eventually. Birth rates are falling in the Third World. Where once every family had twelve children it now has eight, eight become five, five become three. This trend is supported by the increase in per capita GDP in many of the world's poorest regions: prosperity is one of the most effective contraceptives. The birth rate in China, where millions of people starved during my lifetime, is now hovering near replacement level as the working poor in China now get plenty to eat and can even afford TV sets. That sure took a big bite out of population predictions. China will never have a population of two billion.

The 22nd century will see fertility rates drop below replacement level everywhere as they already have in Europe. The immigration that primes the economies and supports the social security systems in Europe and America will wither away.

If you want to accelerate this process, support organizations that promote education, particularly education of women. We give all of our charity budget to the Central Asia Institute in Bozeman, Montana. They build schools in the Stone Age backwaters of the Middle East, under the condition that they are coeducational or girls-only.

The key to the future of the human race is educating women.

The key to the future of the human race is educating women.

I'm not disagreeing, but why exactly(I suspect because women control the birth rates)?

so what that billion people die. According to my belief when a person dies his soul is transcended into another person in another life...so it might as well be me dying and reliving...being born again...and being amongst me in different parallells of existence. So its quite allright. :p

How about targeting the worlds largest cities by dropping a few of these moth*rfu*kers then?!

First we have to find a world like ours. It will likely not be anywhere within a hundred-lightyear radius.
