I just want to mention that you can make your own external harddrive. But a regular ATA "internal" drive and then buy an external enclosure. You might save some money if you do this.

For example, this drive (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=22-140-151&DEPA=1) with this enclosure (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-155-501&depa=1).

Yes, that definitely saves money. I would suggest this hard drive:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-144-309&depa=1

and this enclosure:

$175

BestBuy has a 160GB external for 189.99, and it doesn't even look as cool! Definitely build your own!
