Any Japanese monster fans? I've been a big Godzilla fan since childhood. Anybody else into giant Japanese monsters? Godzilla? Gamera? Ultraman? From what I see everybody thinks the original Godzilla is the best. I think Godzilla Vs. The Thing is classic and enjoyed Godzilla Vs. The Smog Monster as a kid. Basically if Godzilla was on the tube, you couldn't pull me away from it.

Godzilla vs King Kong was a fix!! Godzilla managed to get King Kong into the sea and still lost. This does not make sense

Wasn't there a Godzilla vs Ultraman???

Yeah, there were even rumors that there was two different endings, one Japanese version depicting Godzilla as the victor and vice-versa. This was not true. And Godzilla never fought Ultra Man but did pair up with an Ultra Man wannabe named Jet Jaguar in that big pile if crap Godzilla Vs. Megalon.

I wanna see the new Godzilla movie 'GMK'. It was diected by some guy who did the Gamera movies and he was so good that they wanted him to do Godzilla.

I know I may be scorned for this, but my favourite Godzilla movie was the recent remake *cowers*

I was a godzilla freak as a kid. I would look in the tv guide to see when the movies would come on.

My fave were the 3-headed hydra one and destroy all monsters. anytime there was 3 or more monsters goin at it I was very happy.

I also liked that mecha godzilla one.

Ultraman was cool. The last one where he had to fight all the monsters he had previously beaten was classic. Fighting video games would have never been around if it wasn't for ultraman.

and of course when I say "except" I mean accept.....

That three headed monster is King Ghidora and he is in the new one GMK which was with that Gamera director.......I also used to check the tv guide (saturdays) faithfully, the best is when I'd find a marathon with like 5 movies. That got very rare. It used to be AUTOMATIC for every Thanksgiving, plus King Kong & Mighty Joe Young.

A carefully trained Godzilla fan would notice how the directors really did give Broderick a Japanese feel/look as compared to the old movies (mainly the glasses). They were on to something but just couldn't make it entertaining enough. He wasn't threatning enough, they knocked him down to King Kong size. Then again Godzilla isn't as important as he was back then as he was symbolic to the nuclear attack on Japan.

Also I heard that in Japan Godzilla is like their Mickey Mouse. For crossing streets when it's your turn to walk, instead of a person lighting up, it's a Godzilla. Can anybody confirm this?

Godzilla (Godjira in Japan) somehow works better when it's just a dude in a cheap rubber costume. I have no idea why this is so.
A great looking "monster" in a totally crappy movie: The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
