Well Xev can explain that to you well:D

From what i have seen flaming is when a user is pounded on with either insults or opposing arguments laced with rather saucy language and meaning. Usually a flaming is justly deserved for the user who gets it. If you post something absurd and then try to enforce people to accept your POV...you'll get flamed. If you can take one thing from this post than take this..... The users here are not gullible by any means...well in arguments sake anyway...hell i could be outside their house right now taping them and they wouldn't know it.....not that...um..i am..

Flaming is when you insult, attack verbally with abuse, or take issue with a member, as opposed to taking issue with a member's words and thoughts. It is usually the last bastion of someone who can not defend his position, facts, and words.

Not precisely.

1. vi. To post an email message intended to insult and provoke. 2. vi. To speak incessantly and/or rabidly on some relatively uninteresting subject or with a patently ridiculous attitude. 3. vt. Either of senses 1 or 2, directed with hostility at a particular person or people. 4. n. An instance of flaming. When a discussion degenerates into useless controversy, one might tell the participants "Now you're just flaming" or "Stop all that flamage!" to try to get them to cool down (so to speak).

NOW that is just plain BULLSHIT. You will get flamed for anything and everything whether you deserve it or not. Just dont take it personal because a lot of A$$holes will just chop you down, for whatever the reason. I never really understood it for a while how people can be so dickheaded and mean but it just seems to be the 'way' of forums after I visited em a while. At first they really made me mad when expressing my point of view or an idea, etc, and some dickhead would tell me how Lame/Gay/and all these other stupid words that somehow evolved into slang used quite frequently nowdays.

But once you get to know you could say anything even like, I love my dog, and some A$$hole flames you for it, its just ludicrious. I just laugh now. They dont really effect me because in the end who gives a flying F$&% what some 'thing' on a computer telling you you suck and you are gay and your post was the lamest thing ever Thinks. I mean in the real world, no one flames me. People are not so stupid or quick to do it to someone in the real world in someone's face. But on a forum yes because you cannot come through the computer and rip their throat out and force fead it to the little Prick/Prickette

In conclusion dont take it personally or seriously. It might be hard if you have never done the forum thing but I reccomend if you havent stay off the LIFE section they are the biggest Flamers/A$$hole posts. Or do the sink or swim method and post away!

But try not only to steer from LIFE category if you are sensitive, but watch out in the RELIGION forum too!

It is considered bad form to flame outside a flaming forum in most places........ but sometimes it's so hard to resist.

It basically makes for a more civilized experience.

flaming is usually the last resort of someone who has nothing better to say. i try not to do it, so far i've not, but it gets really irritating sometimes, and you feel some people deserve it.

I always used flaming to put a little kick in my gay bashing lol, usually coupled with 'fruit' I've used flaming to describe people who aren't really gay, but ought to be by the way they act. HEY Calm down! Nothing against gays, it's just a funny saying "flamin fruit"....I usually just insult my friends with it. Sorry I had to add this meaning to the word
