I just watched this film recently and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A science fiction film that actually had some content with a good drama rather than relying on thrill a minute explosions. The problem is a lot of the reviews I read for this didnt rate it too highly.
I honestly cant understand why people were so unmoved by Gattaca. This is the sort of sci-fi film I've wanted see for a while, that doesn't rely on countless explosions, has a newish concept, and actually has some real drama rather than inane technobabble about warp phase coils. Am I an alien for enjoying this film?
The first time I watched Gattaca I was very tired and expecting some action, and so it was dead boring. About a year ago I watched it again and actually paid attention, and it's now one of my favourite science-fiction movies.

I sort of liked it but i actully LIKE the light saber fights in starwars
Tell me the end (especially the music) of eposode 1 wasn't thrilling
It was a groovy fight scene. I'm looking foward to seeing Yoda kick arse.

I liked the lightsaber fights in Episode 1 too, but I watched this film with virtually no knowledge about it and I absolutley loved it. I just found it refreshingly different to have a sci-fi film that wasnt going at 1000 Mph. Yeah Star Wars is cool for its nifty action, but I thought Gattaca was oozing with style and class. I liked the fact that it was more of a real drama with actual people rather than relying on constant Kaboom type explosions to wow the audience.

Yeah I'm looking forward to Ep II as well, but I'm determined not to get excited this time in case its another megabucks letdown. I've heard some rumours saying its supposed to be good, but I'm gonna make my own mind up when I see the actual film. Besides, even if it does turn out crap, there's still plenty of other films about (like Gattaca for instance :D )

NO NO NO
LOTR's and the Matrix
and MIB2
Gattacca was a good movie. I think the best part of it is the fact that it is so close to being the truth. If genetic engineering were allowed and cloning, would people of normal birth be looked down upon? Would the people who were egineered get all the good things in life? The movie posed some very relivant questions.

Damn right its scary, but thats what I love about it. I guess the film was a kind of ugly duckling/underdog story with Ethan Hawke struggling against the engineered society. I thought there were some really tense moments in the film, where his real indentity might be discovered, and especially where Jude Law had to make it to the top of that staircase with only his arms. But I LOVE the look and feel of the film. It just felt really fresh
