View Full Version : Hail, Sleet and Freezing rain... one_raven 03-06-03, 09:52 PM What is the difference? Persol 03-06-03, 10:04 PM What's the difference between flurries and a 'snow event'? Dr Lou Natic 03-06-03, 10:26 PM I think sleet and freezing rain might be the same thing in that they are rain that freezes when it gets close to the ground in cold weather. But hail is hunks of ice falling out of the clouds, it starts frozen I think and happens even in warm weather. Not sure, i'm not a weather man. Dr Lou Natic 03-07-03, 07:19 AM Well shit man come on, you got to admit that was a pretty damn good guess! ;) spuriousmonkey 03-07-03, 08:04 AM they have 303 words for snow in eskimo and 102 words for shit in holland Dr Lou Natic 03-07-03, 08:55 AM does that mean 1 third of holland is covered in shit? NileQueen 03-07-03, 07:50 PM Is that why the tulips grow so well there? Tristan 03-08-03, 08:28 PM Dont you love the weather? 10%, 50%, 90% chance of rain..... is it just me, or does that bother anyone else. Seriously, predicting the chance of rain by using percentages is useless. How will you know if they are right. What if yesterday it snowed at 80% chance, and today it snowed at 2% chance... its a conspiracy I tell you! They can't go wrong! They are always going to be right!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Later T:rolleyes: :D NileQueen 03-09-03, 09:36 PM That Orthogonal character certainly has an Eeyore outlook...
