A video would have been nice!
One frame per year?

Thought I'ld just click into one but clicked into them all. Great for the desktop. Downloaded a bunch of them.

Politically, 1100 A.D. is my favorite. 1300 A.D is #2.

Politically or graphically best....anyone else?

The maps bring home to you just how much history you don't know!

Europe was much prettier when they were scores of city states in Mitteleuropa and Italy. Now those Eurocrat bastards in Brussels want to make the map all one colour. Let's get back to the good old days when you had your very own local despot!

LOL...

It can't last. Look at the maps. Thatcher put it nicely: Attempts at unifying Europe have been tried in the past, usually with unpleasant results.

Absolutly, they dont teach enough diferent periods in schools these days - its all ancient times or 20th Cnetury, not much in between.

its also fasinating to see how people in old days drew their own maps, how much - or litle - they new about the world.
