Maybe I'm naive, but is in it a big risk in itself for a country to collect WMD on one's own soil. Other countries don't have to build their own WMD, all they have to do is locate precisly WMD facilities and bomb them regular style.....

WMD facilities are over-protected. And most of those weapons are no more in those places (nucks are in submarines... I think)

I linked to an MSNBC interactive describing Israel's WMD arsenal, that points out the locations and activities of airbases, weapons plants, and missile batteries, describing Israel's WMD capability as rivaling those of Britain and France. The report estimates that among other things, Israel has been producing about 40 kilos of weapons-grade plutonium each year for 10-20 years, sufficient for hundreds of warheads.

Jane's Intelligence Review (http://jir.janes.com/) (subscription-only) reported on photo reconnaissance showing at least 150 nuclear warheads and 50 Jericho II intermediate range missiles to carry them at Zachariah air force base southeast of Tel Aviv. Zachariah="God remembers with vengeance."

Seems plausible to assert that Americans are being mislead by their government, regarding not only the relative justness and values of Mideastern regimes, but also their relative threats to the region and world.

but those Jericho missiles with a range of 3000 miles places the US within the crosshairs of Irael. Why do they need that much range if they are supposed to be only worried about attacks from Arab states?
