I'm just testing so feel free to ignore this post...but if you're interested in helping a newbie, I have a few quick questions:

1. Which is the best way to view this forum; how should I set my preferences, etc.?

2. Are the people here pretty cool for the most part, I noticed there's a current event/politics branch, is that where the "aggro" posters congregate? How are the mods here?

3. What nationality are most of the members? Does this place get busy, or what?

Like I said, I'm new and I wanted to post something, so here it is. If you can answer my questions - great, if not - no biggie.

Yes. Politics is where all the pissing contests take place. (and religion also) But basically if you don't attack me, I don't attack you. I can't say the same about everyone else in politics however. Mods here are fairly lax except in politics.

Most members are either American or non-American. (you know what I mean if you read posts in politics)

Im an american, though thats a minority here.

People go psychotic in the politics forum. One or two people (myself included) can bat their annoyance back and forth for hours. It can get pretty heated but actual insults are pretty rare. Everyone is tolerant of some cussing provided it is the spice and not the meal.

The mods rarely have to step in.

Welcome Mort! Watch out in Politics, its always where I get the most angry, I dont release it on anyone though. Some people in that section will take what you say the wrong way, meaning they cant take a joke. I often have to describe what I meant by the joke... In other words, dont make bad jokes.:D

I've been checking out the site a little bit and I like what I see. The format is very easy to navigate and the members seem like a friendly, laid-back bunch.

I wish there was a way to view the body of the original posts rather than just the title, but that's nothing to cry about.

I'm actually a refugee from another message board, but maybe I'll get used to this one and stick around.
