There has been much debate about allowing Hispanic peoples to enter America, I say let them come, lets give them the message that we have open arms here. But when they come they should be forced to learn english to at least a minor degree or return out of the country.

Or perhaps we could setup some sort of "Enter America Academy." Where hispanics could learn the Americans ways and become "more American" and eventually become an American by moving north. I imagine these Academy's would be free to the hispanics, but later their taxes they pay in America could pay for it. I think they are a vast resource these hispanics, to strengthen the economy. It should be presented as :"We teach you the American way, we let you become Americans, you pay taxes, you donnot join gangs, etc" Perhaps an ethics class could be taught at this Academy.


We would except these people as fast as we could get them "processed." (medically checked, criminal background check, etc(depending on the crime they may or may not be allowed to enter America))

You didn't know this, and you don't care, but by the third generation of an immigrant family, the children don't know their grandparent's langauge.

I think we need to set up a big ellis island type immigration center, but when they come through we get to change their last names like we did with europeans

Younger Latino immigrants may still enjoy the music from their homelands, but it's hip to speak English and differentiate themselves from their parents. It's also an easy way to get a much bigger slice of the pie they came here for.

While I am extremely big on the idea of getting control over our border, right up to the point where we start laying landmines, I actually want to increase the rate of legal immiration. Everyone coming through should have fingerprints and DNA catalogued, given every medical test known to man, checked for felonies, and signed up for a mandatory english language class if they aren't already fluent speakers. And, if you live here, you damn well are going to be paying all your taxes.

As ridiculous as I assume you meant that to be, there is some precedent in that we used to have laws that said that immigrants had to spend an hour each day walking around wearing a hat.

Now I don't think that we need to go that far but certainly we could address any issues that do arise. For example, many Hispanics who come in illegally will refuse to speak English **Even if they learned it in their home nation**

Nobody has to love everything about the USA, heck but that is part of what freedom means. But if you hate our culture so much that you will not speak the language, then you should stay at home or at least try moving to a nation that you can deal with.
