I have a couple of mates that tried mushrooms a while ago. They went outside in the snow, and let of some fireworks. One of them started to cry, saying he had never seen anything so beautiful in his life... and couldn't convey his emotions in ay other way! the other guy just went to sleep.

i have to admit i was tempted, just to see what it was like, and share the experince. I chickend out in the end.

It can be really scary, or it can be one of the most awesome experiences ever. I have had both sides of the spectrum.

It's been at least 12 years. Took a hit and a half, and saw the walls breath. Wasn't a bad experience, but it lasted way to long, and I felt like warmed over shit the next day.

the flashback that they are refering to is usually a type of post traumatic stress disorder associated with a bad trip, I have never had a "flashback".

For the most part it is.

When I was younger I did it quite frequently--I've probably down it over 200 times. I spent one summer dropping acid every other day, which shows that, while it may not be physically addictive, it does have abuse potential. Given all those occassions it would be hard to give a single description of the experience. I had some great experiences and some pretty crappy ones.

If you are relatively stable, have no major mental disorders, and are able to take some time out from real life (it will likely last from the time you take it until you fall asleep), then it's worth trying. If you do it, do it with someone you get along with well who has prior experience. I would also either be outside or be able to get outside. (In my experience, the best cure for a bad trip is to get out of the house and stare at some trees or flowers.)

There is a possibilty of flashbacks over the short-term (you may notice moments where things seem strange a week or so after) but not over years. It will, however, likely change your perspective on things somewhat, hopefully in a good way.

Anyone have any cool stories about your tripping experiences?

I once snorted a couple of mescaline pills (I don't know if they can be called pills though.....they looked sorta like nerds candy). I gotta tell you --- that was the shortest journey from sane to completely and utterly fried I've ever been on.
I'm used to the long 45 minute-hour wait until it starts kicking in. Snorting it was like 20 minutes......then reality fell apart.

The funny thing about it is I went inline skating right after it really started kicking in. I spent the next hour or so trying to do all these goofy spins and jumps. I was also laughing at myself. I would make mouth noises whenever something passed by me quickly (like a car or my arm in front of my face or the street lights if I was looking at them.....all tracers).

What made it worse was the fact that I was in a busy neighborhood with lots of people walking around. This was between a college campus and an area with a bunch of bars/pubs. I'm sure a few people were witness to my idiocy.

My friends didn't skate, so they stayed back at the apartment drinking beer, passing a bowl around, and having a conversation that made absolutely no sense.....it least it didn't when I left.

I've always detested psychedelics. I always felt like my body was robbed of its sensualistic qualities, replacing it with static and a sense for an anonymous body: a halfway limbo between Frankenstein and the Jetsons.

When I was in high school, my parents made me go to church, so me and my friends would skip out and go drinking in the park. The Sunday night church service was broadcast live on the radio, so we would tune in to keep track of how long we had till the end of the service. One night, one of our group told us about this gay bar that sold "x" (it was still legal then) so we went in, and pretended to be gay, and bought a couple of hits from the bartender. I took a half a hit, and was disappointed when I didn't feel anything after 30 minutes...the service was almost over, so we returned.

While I was waiting outside the sanctuary for the end of the service....WHOOSH! it hit me like a ton of bricks. My mouth felt like it was at the end of a pipe extended from my face. Worse..my mom's best friend walked up and started to talk to me. It took everything I had to get the words out of my mouth.

The next day my mom said she got a call from her friend, telling her about our conversation....I thought I was so busted...but then she told me her friend said how impressed she was of me, and how I was becoming such a little gentleman. If she only knew....

I was thinking the same thing when I read that.
I've never been a weekly acid person - usually irregular......but there were times where I DID have consecutive weeks/days with acid around, and whenever I dropped on those consecutive weeks/days, they didn't really do much for me.

Actually you only need about 24 hours and a couple night's sleep. I think it's because you need to replenish your serotonin levels. It also helps if you keep increasing the dose. My the end of the summer I was taking about 6 or 7 hits at a time.

Yes "to nark" is British (not American) slang meaning to inform on someone. I've seen it in late 19th century British novels. I'm not certain whether the American slang for a undercover officer--"a narc"--is related or not.

Trust me, there's nothing slow about salvia. Everything's constantly moving changing. I remember one time I thought I'd fully come back from a trip and I was listening to the Postal Service. I looked at the speakers and there were actual physical notes just flying out of it! I grabbed one and it took me away like a magic carpet. And that was at like the very end of the trip. Earlier, it was even better.

could be...I dont think you lose it as a result of the chemical itself, but more from the fatigue that happens as a result of your body being up for so long.
