Was having difficulty loading sciforums, while all other websites would load fine ... I wondered if it had anything to do with the ammount of things on the homepage. And if anyone else has experienced it.

Just wait a few minutes and you can open the link. Tiassa 01-11-09, 05:52 AM What time zone are you in, Tnerb? Or, to make it less invasive a question, was this around 10:30 GMT (5:30 AM EST, 2:30 AM PST)? Tnerb 01-11-09, 05:57 AM ATM it is 6:13AM... This was about 30 minutes ago, and I had to restart. Damn. Does this to me sometimes. Stryder 01-11-09, 09:26 PM Sometimes the problem won't actually be the site but a "hop" in the route that your connection to it takes. Especially with recent "DNS Hijacking" viruses. Such viruses alter the DNS client on your computer to go through a rogue DNS server, this is a problem since the rogue site can offer up legitmate looking websites (Notibly Banks etc) and attempt to get credit information out of an unwitting user. You should check that your DNS client hasn't been hijacked from time to time. (Commonly most people use the "automatic DNS" method, which is fine if the information is coming from your ISP. It's when it's been "Manually" inserted, that you should query your DNS IP.) Obviously this is one of the worst attacks since the server you go through can learn your surfing habits and any transactions made can be at sites you visit.
