Dear admins & mods,

I find it difficult when I need to reply 1 post and break them into several quote boxes. Such as, a post contains of many sentences and contains about 5 different topics, and I'd like to break it into 5 different quotes and reply them one by one within a single post. At the moment, when I'd like to do so, I have to type myself the quote tag several times.

So, can we have a quote button tool in the 'post reply' box, somewhere near other tools (see pic below) so that when we click that button, the [quote] [ /quote] text will appears on the message box?

Can I have a button where I can click to quote button on inzomnia's post and get the embedded quote by SAM?

inzomnia what you need to do is click the quote button and then FLIP it. So you have the {Quote} AFTER the {/Quote} rather than before. Then you just type your own comments in between. Once you have fliped it you can copy it (Ctrl C) as many times as you need to. The last quote will automatically close itself if you have hit the quote button under the posters avatar

just press the quote button twice to get this ----> [ QUOTE][ QUOTE][ /QUOTE][ /QUOTE] (without the spaces)

then paste the relevant posts like this, and add the names of the posters after the word QUOTE in the first [] brackets before their quoted post, as many times as you like, just make sure you close all the quotes

[ QUOTE=inzomnia]......inzomnia's stuff......[ QUOTE=sam]......sam's stuff........[ QUOTE=asguard].....asguard's stuff.......[ QUOTE=BoH].......Betrayer of Hope's stuff.......[ /QUOTE][ /QUOTE][ /QUOTE][ /QUOTE]

Yes the feature you asked for in the OP already exists. Actually, the quotes used to work better. Before, anytime somebody had a quote in their post, that quote would be included into any quote of that post. Now, when you quote a post that already has a quote, the quote disappears. I don't know how or why it changed. It just makes it more difficult to quote people properly.

no betrayer, what you do is click the +quote button for every post you want to quote (they turn red as you select then)

That or you just copy the quote directly out of the post BEFORE you hit quote

As Asguard said, select all the posts you want with the http://www.sciforums.com/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif button. When you've selected the posts you want to quote press the http://www.sciforums.com/images/buttons/quote.gif button. If you don't see all the posts in the reply panel [which can happen when you select posts from different threads] look below the reply panel where it asks you to "Quote these posts as well"

SAM all you need to do is hit the "post reply" button insted of the normal quote button and all the posts will be there automatically

Even if you quote a post, if there is a quote in the quoted post, it will disappear.
