Whenever I read an article about robots and virtual reality in the mid or late 21st century, I can’t help but feel like I was born in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was just thinking, what if you are having it with a robot and it suddenly short circuits, or maybe it forgot what sexuality you were or prefered and stuck it down in your rear, that would be real bad, especialy when you have to explain exactly what happened to someone who notices your inconvenience while walking to your car or something. Robots are cute and all but they have no feedback, not the same magnitude as a decent human. You could probably add in a few features like a tongue that cleans. That would mean you don't have to get up earlier for a shower - the robot will have taken care of that!

I would certainly consider buying a sexual android. Hopefully, the technology would be such that I was able to tailor it to all my ideals (basically a 'simulation' of the sexual partner of my dreams). Also - hopefully, it will be indistinguishable from a real woman.......well, indistinguishable as far as physical sensation goes, and whatever role-play I decided to engage with it. The technology for that is certainly far past 2050.

I don't think I could ever consider it a 'companion" or marry it. Nothing about it is real. The manufacturer could make it's "personality" 110% convincing, but It will only do whatever it's programmed to do. Ultimately, I would still prefer/desire humans.
