I'm not really against any 'sexually explicit' materials. That's not the problem. It's just that.. from what I've seen, things can get a whole lot worse. I'm talking about stupidity to the point of a Sciforums burial.

After staying here two years, I've been to countless other boards. And none - not one - matches up with this place. Things can get a heck of a lot worse. Believe me.

For one, we'd need a super-Goofyfish mod to weed out bad threads 24/7. Threads like: 'Post a picture of you fav. Ho' or the 'Let's all get naked and masturbate eachother online'. And what about the spammers?

The deranged pervs would come here in droves, making the moderating process nothing but a redudant and stupid waste of time. (I'll admit that moderating a forum you like isn't that bad, but when it sinks to the level of dumbness, it ain't.)

And the same people posting the worthless threads I mentioned above, will begin to infiltrate other parts of the site. Wearing down mods, and soon pushing the more qualified posters away.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but that's about what would happen. No doubt.

NOt that I would really want to see that on sciforums, I don't thinkit would be that bad, for two reasons:
1.) have a three strike policy for postings of that nature out side the designated area
and 2.) most people looking for that aren't giong to go to a place where the first forums you see are arts& culture, wolrd events and politics, etc..
Hide it well like was suggested, and i wouldn't think it would be that big of a problem.

i was thinking blocked off for the first 21 (or so) days of their membership. Som idiot looking for a sex forum will not keep coming back for 21 days. it will be discouraging and they will leave, and forget how to come back.
