I have this sociology poll to do, and thought this would be the best group of people to get intelligent input from. If you guys might take a few minutes, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you.
:D

First, based on your last name  view the specified picture.

last name beginning with A - F = <a href="http://www.lhup.edu/~tbaylor/images/young_man.jpg">younger man</a>
last name beginning with G - N = <a href="http://www.lhup.edu/~tbaylor/images/middle_aged_man.jpg">middle-aged man</a>
last name beginning with O - Z = <a href="http://www.lhup.edu/~tbaylor/images/older_man.jpg">older man</a>

Based on the picture, please evaluate the individual on the 19 characteristics listed below.

Using a scale of 1 to 7...

1) Active vs Passive (1 being most active ... 7 being most passive)

2) Competent vs Incompetent (1 most competent ... 7 most incompetent)

3) High IQ vs Low IQ (1 highest IQ ... 7 lowest IQ)

4) Powerful vs Weak (1 most powerful ... 7 weakest)

5) Healthy vs Sickly (1 very healthy ... 7 very sickly)

6) Secure vs Insecure (1 very secure ... 7 very insecure)

7) Creative vs Uncreative (1 very creative ... 7 very uncreative)

8) Fast vs Slow (1 fastest ... 7 slowest)

9) Attractive vs Unattractive (1 most attractive ... 7 most unattractive)

10) Pleasant vs Unpleasant (1 very pleasant ... 7 very unpleasant)

11) Reliable vs Unreliable (1 very reliable ... 7 very unreliable)

12) Energetic vs Lazy (1 very energetic ... 7 very lazy)

13) Calm vs Irritable (1 very calm ... 7 very irritable)

14) Flexible vs Rigid (1 very flexible ... 7 very rigid)

15) Educated vs Uneducated (1 very educated ... 7 very uneducated)

16) Generous vs Selfish (1 very generous ... 7 very selfish)

17) Wealthy vs Poor (1 very wealthy ... 7 very poor)

18) Good memory vs Forgetful (1 very good memory ... 7 very forgetful)

19) Involved vs Socially Isolated (1 very involved ... 7 very socially isolated)

This is an exercise to measure assumptions based on appearances, so go with your gut.

That was long

Thanks again.

First, let me say, before beginning this, that these are judgements based on a picture which I wouldn't hope to actually make and stick to in any real life circumstance, but if you're twisting my arm, I shall continue...

1) 6
2) 4
3) 4
4) 6
5) 2
6) 2
7) 1
8) 4 (like wit, right?... running wise, he's slow)
9) 6
10) 6 (I think this person would try to please others, and this would irritate me.. for ME, he'd be unpleasant)
11) 2
12) 4
13) 4 (calm when necessary, irritated most the rest of the time)
14) 7 (this is why i hate this man)
15) 4 (highly educated, but not wise)
16) 4 (he comes off as more generous than he actually is)
17) 4 (this ones a toughy because he's coming from a 5, heading towards a 3)
18) 3 (this was the hardest one for me)
19) 6 (but he thinks he's more involved than he actually is)

That was the middle-aged man, I went with my gut, and I too would like to see results. :D

A factor in my decision making was the clothing, even though only a small portion was visible. Well, I clicked on the other pics, and noticed the clothing was the same. So, yeah...

Thanks for showing interest, this helps me out.

It's just for an intro to sociology class, and the professor compiles all the results from all the students in his 3 sections and then explains it all to us in class. He's working on another publication. I'll gladly keep you posted when he gets his data together.

Thanks again!:D

He's using you guys to make his publication even easier, makes it
look like homework and gets all the applause... :p

That's all fine and dandy, but halfway between 1 and 7 is 4.

This is very true, though the joke is on him... considering I'm likely the only one of his students actually questioning people... most just fill in their blanks with random numbers. :p

This particular brand of college student I have the "pleasure" of attending class with don't have much fondness for any type of school work.

Actually, the joke's on history. Everything is and will be skewed in this fashion, or something similar. Life is one big joke like that. :bugeye:

The guy (or guys) has boring style. I don't own one white dress shirt.
