If this isn't a spambot, then most accountants I know of use a Spreadsheet. Either "Excel" or "OpenOffice" can be used, it allows you to format the sheet the way you want/need.

Otherwise proper software like "Quicken" can be used. (Use google to search for any of those things mentioned)

Or 'Sage Accounts', my other half uses Sage packages for her business, and the phone support is pretty good.

I used Quicken for household bookkeeping for several years and it was absolutely infuriating. I rebuilt our accounts on Excel and the process is now faster, more reliable, and easier to reference. My degree is in accounting and I doubt that Quicken would be more appropriate for office use because it's not versatile enough. It aims at a market which, in my opinion, does not exist. Too cumbersome for consumers, too simple for professionals.

If you know what you're doing, you can do it very easily with Excel. If you don't know what you're doing, you should figure that out before you try to do it.

What exactly do you want to accomplish with this software?

I If you don't know what you're doing, you should figure that out before you try to do it.

Advice I gave to two dumbasses at my local hardware store some time ago. Dumbass 1 had bought a lampshade that didn't fit. Dumbass 2 was trying to work out how much money should change hands in what direction with the swap as the new shade was a different price. Neither could do the maths, and Dumbass 2 started with 'Well, you gave me £20' and tapped that into the calculator. She then didn't know where to go. As I was next in line I had to intervene and explain the simple maths to them, and explain that the calculator wasn't going to get them a result if they hinted at it by typing in numbers. I think they were both offended, but I didn't care.

Thanks for adding that, I couldn't actually remember the name :(

I don't trust it, it tells you that renting is favourable to buying!

It's by Sage and it's the number 1 software here. Everyone uses it.

So... why renting is not favourable to buying?
