View Full Version : Starship Generations: Growing Food Without Light Success_Machine 08-17-01, 12:58 PM How to grow food without light? This is what I call "thinking outside the box"! http://www.geocities.com/womplex_oo1/StarshipGenerations.html Xerxes 08-22-01, 12:31 AM Its called chemosynthesis. wet1 08-22-01, 12:35 AM Welcome to Sciforums, Elbaz, I hope you enjoy our community. I had not thought of the chemosynthesis until you mentioned it. Duh! Replacing light with chemical as the energy source. And that's exactly what it is about. Thank you. Xerxes 08-23-01, 07:10 PM I'm definately enjoying this community. I spent about 5 hours in it in the last 2 days! Thankyou for the welcome. There are dark cave plants all over primarily in southeastern USA that use chemosynthesis. I saw it on the discovery channel. unfortunately I wont get to be here again until monday because they're dragging me camping. I'll be back!
