I have an mp3 player (Nomad Jukebox 3 :D ) and am looking for more ambient/atmospheric songs. If you can help me think of any I'd be thankful. To give you an idea of the mood I'm looking for, here's a few examples of songs on the same playlist:

Radiohead - (almost all of em)
Bjork - All is full of love
Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar
Some Aphex Twin (feel free to recommend more)
Some Enya (diddo)

If you can find it, get EVERYTHING off of a CD called Unlearn by a band called Psykosonik. It's probably the most amazing CD I've ever heard for electronic/pop, and they're soooo underrated.

EDIT: If you end up liking Psykosonik, Hednoize is another offshoot band from one of the members. Harder, heavier, and more dark, but still pretty good, just not as listenable. Their only album right now is called Searching For The End.

You can also find some of Daniel Lenz's unreleased softer stuff on mp3.com under the artist of Psykohed.

How bout some old Eno, like music for airports...

Or sigur ros....

Travis is a Radiohead-wannabe. Forget them and get Radiohead instead. Anything from their album "OK Computer" onwards is good stuff.

Little Fluffly Clouds by Orbital is a wonderful song. I've *heard* that it's even better on mushrooms :D .

Also, anything by Deep Forest is neat-o.

Wow, surprised how many songs I recongnize and like that've been posted sofar, many that I thought were so obscure that I'd never see other of thier fans. Has anyone ever played the game Acid Tetris(btw I'm halfway up their highscores!)? Well they have MP3 versions of thier songs for download, and some of it is really killer ambient.
