View Full Version : The Difference
I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day. I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me and heavier came each task. Why doesn't God help me? I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on gray and bleak. I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, "You didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence. I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day. I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.

Tony H2o 03-20-00, 06:18 AM Hello Marie,
Tony H2o here, I enjoyed your poem and visited the site mentioned. I found most of what was there to be in line with what the Bible teaches, and as a believer that was refreshing.
One problem I have however is that you talk like a Christian here but in another discussion string you mention OBE, meditation, astral projection etc and these things are seriously against what God's word teaches.
I would appreciate if you could elaborate for me where these techniques fit in with what the Bible teaches.
From my knowledge it teaches to be sound minded, in control of our facilties, to bring every thought into captivity and not be empty headed. It teaches to renew our mind with God's word not to empty it.
Awaiting your response.

Hello Tony H2o,
I am glad that you enjoyed the poem and that the website was refreshing for you. I did not write the poem. I found it at an artistic show years ago. It is one of many which hang on the walls in my home. The author is not mentioned.
You asked me to elaborate about where OBE, astral projection, etc. fit in with what the Bible teaches. Your characterization of these experiences leads me to believe that you have a bias against them but I am not sure what it is based on. It has been my experience that one must be of very sound mind and in control of their faculties in order to experience these things. One gains more knowledge about God's universe, gains more understanding of God's word and in that respect becomes closer to God than most people realize is possible in this lifetime -yet, you see a conflict with the Bible?
It would be helpful to me if you would first elaborate on the conflict that you see. Not trying to be difficult. Just trying to narrow the scope of my answer.
Thanks,
Marie
Tony H2o 03-20-00, 11:19 PM Hello Marie,
Thankyou for the response,
To be blunt and directly honest I do have a bias against the methods you use to "enhance' yourself. And this is specifically based on Gods Word and warnings in there regarding involvement in things such as speaking to deceased spirits and guides, etc. So yes I do see a conflict with the Bible and if you would like me to direct you on what it teaches regarding these things I would be most happy to do so.
But the point that probably requires clarrification more so than any other is the Lordship of Jesus Christ. From your post regarding your methods you use these methods to experience a greater knowledge of God and the universe. However again I see this as being in conflict with the teachings of Jesus and the Bible. So the point of clarrification is if you see Jesus as the way, truth and life, as the only way to get to know God the Father, as the only mediator between God and man, as the only way of salvation, as the one who died in place of your sins. As the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The question that needs to be answered is if you confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, if not then you can by no means claim the title of Christian. If you only choose the rosey path of feel good phrases from the Bible and reject the truth then you cannot claim Jesus' Lordship over your life. For if you truely know God then the Father will point to the Son and the Son to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am not saying that I don't believe that what you have described is real. I used to be involved in similar things, and if you read my posts OVERVIEW and DREAMS & VISIONS you will understand my knowledge of these matters better.
When you have a direct experrience with the Lord of the universe it make the experiences you cherrish seem like an old black and white cartoon. They are a deception and a distraction from the real truth.
I am hoping that you don't take this as a personal attack, I don't mean it that way. Look at it as a stop, check, see.
Stop and listen to what I have said.
Check, go ahead and check it out, check me out to see what kind of person I am, check the Bible out to see what it really says about these things.
See, see if you come to the same conclusions.

Hello TonyH2o,
I, too, have lived in the darkness and now I live in the light. Jesus Christ is my savior. His love for me and my love for Him does not limit my potential for learning about the non-physical realm of God's great universe. In fact, it is encouraged in my relationship with Jesus Christ. There are those on this board who are looking for evidence of a soul and I have offered them information to help further their understanding in that area.
You speak quickly about my methods and I'm not sure that you really understand what it is that you are saying. Your bias seems to stem from your past experiences. From what I gather, you were on drugs at the time, correct? That is not an attack, just an observation and a request for clarification. I am drug-free and keep the temple of my soul healthy.
You see a conflict in the teachings of Jesus Christ with regard to these matters of the soul which I do not. If you care to post the specific conflicts which you see I will be happy to discuss them with you.
Tony H2o 03-21-00, 01:38 AM Hi Marie,
Thanks for response, its good to see that you confess Jesus is Lord. Having said that it is clear that we do not see things the same way.
Regarding the drug thing, I was clean at the time of my experiences, and thankyou for taking the time to read them.
I know I have only skimmed over your methods and stated that I see conflicts with Gods Word. I will in the next few hours or at least by tomorrow attempt to clarrify my points of concern so that we can discuss in greater detail.
Until later
