I've noticed that many on here are atheists, and the title of this thread tells what I'm wondering. I realize I'm catering to the right here more, which will probably mean that the fall of religion will win.

Religion: Causes problems with science and logical thinking, promotes stupid values, contaminates politics, and caues massive conflicts and terrorism across the world. Not too mention those bizarre, brainwashing cults.

Communism/Statism/Socialism: Worship of the State. The Cold War is over, but the larger struggle between capitalism and socialism hasn't quite ended yet. I can only hope that China turns even more capitalist, and that socialism never claims its biggest fish, the United States of America. For those of us who work(the middle-class) our way through life, the advent of socialism is a terrible thing. It is way to idealistic and illogical, and it would be nice to have it finally buried. Promotes fascism in that a strong enforcement and huge infrastructure is needed to balance everything out, and that ends up leaving the governments with too much abusive power. One good side-effect is that it substitutes God for the state, though, and promotes atheism.

Not quite sure what you are asking. Will we see the end of religion or communism first? If that's what you're asking, then I would say communism, since nobody has been able to get it right yet anyway, and nobody will get it right in the future. Communism will not have a legitimate chance for success unless a few people survive armageddon, and regroup into small hunter/gather societies. On the other hand, religion has been around since the first civilizations sprang up and will likely be around until the end of man. It has become a powerful crutch because it gives hope to the hopeless, a chance for something better in a next life. That's a powerful selling point for the masses.

I think saying religion (Mass terminology), promotes stupid values is a bit harsh.
I think it tries to promote a sense and way of acting that benefits everyone in its on simplified, Ideal world kinda way ^_^
I used to be very religious (Christian) but now i'm more of an Atheist who belives in something more and certainly know that my faith when i was young is the only reason i didn't go mad and jump out a window (Sorry you lot better luck next time but i'm still here ta bug ya =P)
