I have the stuff and have tried it. It tastes. . . REAL! Not chemically. Stunning.
How much longer till we get sugar replaced in everything.
What is the "other shoe" that is about to fall on this? It cannot POSSIBLY be this good.

Well, yeah, but if this stuff IS totally natural, and safe and calorie free, and still taste as real as sugar flavored ones. . . then why not? I mean, you'll save millions of unneeded calories!

superstring01 12-25-09, 07:34 PM Orly! Did you make my recipe yet. It's simply amazing. The Cayenne pepper is perfect in the recipe.
For those of you who don't know, I am an avid baker. I invent new recipes all the time. My newest creation is one of my proudest:
Sweet & Spicy Cinnamon Almond Cookies
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened (no substitutions, real butter only)
¾ cups granulated sugar
¾ cups packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract*
1 tbsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
2 large eggs
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 cup slivered or chopped almonds
Preheat oven to 375°F
Cream together baking soda, salt, butter, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne pepper and eggs until well blended (with an electric stand mixer, about two minutes). Color should pale a bit. This super-mixing allows the sugar crystals to fully mix within the butter. If mixing by hand, be prepared to stand there for a while.
After the first ingredients are mixed, add flour, chips and nuts. Mix JUST long enough to integrate the last ingredients. Avoid over mixing which will form gluten (which is good in bread, but BAD in cookies).
They work great as cookie bars (bake for 16-20 minutes depending on your taste) or as individual round cookies (use a small ice cream or medium cookie scoop, bake for about 10-12 minutes depending on your taste).
*A note on Vanilla flavoring. Both artificial and real vanilla contain basically the same flavor molecules; real vanilla extract having some additional natural compounds that are very mild and only stand out when vanilla is the only flavor. If you are using vanilla as a primary flavor, it’s best to use the real stuff. The subtle under-tones in real vanilla will make a difference in cookies, cheese cake, frosting, etc. But, when used with strong accompanying flavors (cinnamon and chocolate, for example), save money and use artificial vanilla flavor. It’s physically impossible for a human tongue to detect real vanilla’s various notes in the presence of strong flavors.

How much sugar does one person eat in their diet??? I'd rather save money
Orleander 12-25-09, 07:38 PM Orly! Did you make my recipe yet. It's simply amazing. The Cayenne pepper is perfect in the recipe....
No, still gotta go buy the pepper.
Made the cranberry relish with the jalapenos though. YUMMY!!!!

Orly, it's about finding what works for a person. If sugar causes you no ill effects and isn't adding to your badunkadunk, then, HELL, eat it.
I'm starting to carry a daddy-belly, and I have no kids.
I'm switching to Truvia.

Orleander 12-25-09, 07:43 PM Pretend I'm making a pitcher of kool-aid. How much truvia would I use and about how much would it cost?

My teeth wont let me. Havent tried drinking it but i think it would hurt my teeth. I already have three teeth missing in the back. Luckily none in the front.
Orleander 12-25-09, 09:31 PM that's so sad. No kool-aid mustache? Nothing is more endearing than a grown man with a kool-aid mustache. Maybe this truvia is just the thing for you then.
francois 12-26-09, 12:22 AM You guys are fags. If you want less fat, you should eatless and whwatnot, not watch what you eat.
spidergoat 12-26-09, 01:13 AM The downside is it's a mild laxative.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Not every person on earth is a horrible eater.
I'm obsessive about exercise, and outside the holidays, I eat NO wheat (I have issues with it) almost no refined carbs and stick to very healthy "green" foods.
My family has a LONG history of obeise people. I'm not fat. Not in the least. I just have a daddy belly and I'm considering alternative ways to helping make it go away. Shit! If I had the money now, I'd consider surgery too.

there is a toothpaste called "sensodyne" that might help.
you need to brush your teeth with it for a few days for it to take effect.
talk to your dentist, he might be able to prescribe something better.
visceral_instinct 12-26-09, 05:06 PM what about when you want ACTUAL sugar for a sugar crash (hypoglycemia)?
Orleander 12-27-09, 11:24 AM why would anyone want a sugar crash?
I have used stevia for years. I love being able to have drinks as sweet as I want without unnecessary calories or the risk of blood sugar problems. Even got a stevia houseplant.
madanthonywayne 12-27-09, 10:14 PM Pretend I'm making a pitcher of kool-aid. How much truvia would I use and about how much would it cost?
I always buy the generic crystal lite kool aide type mix with the zero calorie sweetener already mixed in. For about $2.50 you can make three gallons of sugar free kool aide.

I meant to ALLEVIATE one!
Challenger78 12-29-09, 10:08 AM My health-nut english teacher recommended this to me. I, being a teenager, nodded politely, before proceeding to have ignored him completely.
