View Full Version : US bombing Afghanistan? ltcmmdr 09-12-01, 11:55 PM Does anybody think we will actually bomb the hell out Afghanistan? I've had heard about it on the news. Banshee 09-13-01, 04:15 AM I agree on that. Please, no bombing back!!! It is not the answer!!! But I can understand there are a lot of people who won't hesitate now to drop a bomb above Afghanistan. More innocent victims. Bin Laden is hidden. Him you can never hit..... May there please be not a war come out of this..... kmguru 09-13-01, 10:33 AM Hi Banshee: We are hoping, the moderate Moslem countries will give up Bin Laden and help us dismantle his organization. Then we all live in peace. If that does not happen, we and NATO will go to war, kill a few innocent people and piss off the Moslem people and then all hell will break loose, literally. I hope, cooler heads will prevail, but it is 50/50 at this time. Do you know that like a dog with a bone, the enemy was after WTC tower until it was demolished? The next two towers that are at risk may be Empire State Building and Statue Of Liberty. They are the major land marks of New York. There was a Bomb threat to ESB last night. I sincerely hope, we solve this problem. There are a lot of smart people in Washington. Time will tell.... Banshee 09-13-01, 11:37 AM I know Kmguru, I know. Don't know what to say of this any more..... So much killings, so much hurt, so much pain..... It is unfair, the people in the buildings didn't even have a chance. No words for this, no words..... I feel cold, every time I see it, no words here. They can't subscribe what happened, what the feelings are. wikedspikes666 10-11-01, 10:18 AM im glad were bombing those bastards they deserve it!if you dont want us to bomb them then they should of never bombed us.kill all towelheads Banshee 10-11-01, 10:59 AM Be glad if it helps you to throw your anger out. But never mean it please, for you are no better then the terrorists themselves. What I really do hope, is that they give away Osama Bin Laden to the USA. Then they can bring him to trial.... Then it is done. Or not? Maybe it is just the beginning... Of the end. jandt 10-11-01, 11:57 AM [QUOTE]Originally posted by kmguru [B]Hi Banshee: We are hoping, the moderate Moslem countries will give up Bin Laden and help us dismantle his organization. Who the hell is this WE you keep refering too? That is what i hate most about americans, bunch of armchair warriors. Go watch jerry springer and leave the rest of the world alone. FREAKS Brad Rules 10-11-01, 12:27 PM Who the hell is this WE you keep refering too? That is what i hate most about americans, bunch of armchair warriors. Go watch jerry springer and leave the rest of the world alone. FREAKS We will..... just as soon as we eradicate the vermin that attacked our innocent civillians without any provocation whatsoever. No other country has done more for the rest of the world than America. When Africans are starving it is america that feeds them. When the genocide of Muslims in Bosnia occurred, it was America that stopped it. When Saddam invaded Kuwait, it was the American boot that kicked his butt out. As a canadian you must be aware of the fact that 40% of your economy is dependent on trade with America. The average Canadians standard of living is directly tied to trade with America. Canada's interests are inextricably linked to America's interests. If America falls, Canada will follow. Can someone get the lithium tablets? It appears a certain person hasn't been taking his.... Banshee 10-12-01, 03:02 AM Don't react so angry at the Americans. It is logical they feel this way. I feel it a little. But I am non violent, pascifist... :) It is their good right to be that angry, thousands of people are killed in these useless attacks. Terrible... How can humans do this to eachother? They can... Very easily so to see. :( I hate the bombing, really, I hate it. More innocent people killed. Lets hope it will stop, but it will take time... Much time. Carrington 10-15-01, 06:31 PM The cost of this "war" has to weighed in indirect deaths as well as civilian bombing casualties. With bombing raids going on day and night, it is impossible to coordinate and get food across to starving Afghani's. The awful truth is that if it does not stop now, millions of Afghani's will die during winter. Already it is probably too late. Is this a noble epitah for those who perished on Sept.11th...? The Pentagon seems divided about what path this war should take. Paul Wolfowitz believes it is essential to extend the war to Iraq and get rid of Hussein before he develops weopons of mass destruction, while Colin Powell and the allies take a more cautious view, believing an invasion of Iraq could be disaterous. One thing seems certain....the war against terrorism will not be won by bombing the rubble of Afghanistan. Such an action is certain to exacerbate anti-American grievances against the US. Growing unrest with the "war" may be summed up in the words of Megawati Sukarno Putri...the Indonesian priminister..."No nation has the right to invade another to root out terrorism." The US would do better to follow the path of International law, in its persuit of terrorism, rather than cementing its already dangerous image of "global asskicker". Too often it has dressed up self interest in the cloak of liberty and freedom. Chagur 10-15-01, 09:15 PM The US would do better to follow the path of International law, in its persuit of terrorism, rather than cementing its already dangerous image of "global asskicker". And where might I ask is this 'international law' to be found? Banshee 10-16-01, 03:53 AM I agree with Carrington. This bombing on Afghanistan has to stop, immediately. It is ridiculous that the Afghani are bombed and at the same time they drop food supplies. To ridiculous for words. And do you really think it will help rule out terrorisme, then you are not thinking right. How can this bombing make an end to terrorisme? Explain please. Thank you. Captain Canada 10-16-01, 04:33 AM Chagur: And where might I ask is this 'international law' to be found? Within the texts of most US foreign policy justifications. Of course it sounds good, is vague, and rarely is pursued for its own sake. Carrington 10-16-01, 06:22 PM The Hague has been put forward as a model for an International court of law, where terrorists like bin Laden could be tried for crimes against humanity. There is no reason why this couldn't happen, given united nations co-operation. In the past America has railed against this, because it has feared having to prosecute its own citizens in such a court, eg. Kissinger. The difficulty is not in the application of law...it's in the apprehension. In the past any success aginst terrorists has been won largely through intelligence and garnering the support of muslims to enter Middle Eastern territory and work on behalf of the US. This present war endangers that relationship...if too many civilians die in this war, or it expands to Iraq....significant muslim support could be lost and the fight against terrorism may, in the long term, be hindered. Banshee 10-17-01, 02:01 AM Yes! Exactly!! |
