I am trying to hook up DSL modem to my macbook, the issue is that when i create a connection (PPoE) it uses interface as ethernet and i cant see a USB based connection option; Can i get this done?

install the USB driver before connecting the modem or it will not be detected.
oops, i'm speaking of a non mac system. may be the same for yours, dunno though.

You might want to also check for compatibility...uh oh.

Thanks for your responses, really appreciate it; I was able to work the problem through by using an ethernet cable from the modem, I then used Network preferences and configured a PPoE connection and it works ...
