you have to fill in a code to avoid computers taking the test or something.

the code is a jpeg, you have to write out what you see.

Je score is 129 :D Didnt finish it either. Took me a couple of minutes to work out what i had to do on some of them e.g. filled in 9-15 as the shaded boxes being the missing symbol. Had to go back and redo them when i realised. :( what did everyone else get??

Accurate...? It is the Mensa pre test, but Mensa doesn't give you a number when you finish it. They just say how many answers were correct.

If lots of Sciforums members take the test, we'd have a better view on what the score is worth. Maybe.

Well... what happens is this:

Mensa gives you a pre test on their various official sites. It is THAT test that you just made. Mensa tells you how many questions you had correct, and how much chance that gives you to pass the real test. The real test can only be done under supervision of Mensa.

Various websites, including the one which I linked you to, copy that Mensa pre test, but instead of just telling you how many questions you had correct, they give you a 'number'.

People claim they can tell me what number my IQ is. No one has ever done that accurate, no one seems to know how to do it.

But you're right about the fact that none of the two matter.

IQ 'measures' your intelligence for your age. An IQ of 100 means that you have the right intelligence for your age. A test like this one looks like it measureures ones reasoning ability. The ability to think objectively and logically (which i would guess the men are better at :D :p ). So for example a score of 150 would mean that one has a score higher then ones age by a half.So a 20 yr old has the reasoning capabilities of a 30 year old (1 + 1/2= 20 + 10=30). This is if this test actually measures intelligence or reasoning capabilities (logic) at all.

Tests on-line do not give you your IQ score. Frankly, any test that publishes its questions on-line is suspect. Valid IQ tests do not publish the questions. That's why you may have IQ scores all over the map when taking on-line IQ tests. Only a standardized IQ test can give you a good picture of what your IQ range may be. A test is standardized by looking at the responses to questions from a representative sample of people. A valid IQ rating typically remains pretty consistant throughout your lifetime after the age of 10 or so.

IQ is only a measure of certain thinking skills that you may or may not employ in your day to day activities. IQ isn't the samething as knowledge.
