I never thought I would OP here but what the hell.

Many of you have seen my rants about how anyone on this forum could be totally or partially misrepresenting themselves as someone who they are not. Not just in name but personality also. How many let their alter-ego run rampant? Introverts become extroverts, anti-socials become sociable, sexless become the oversexed, ugly becomes beautiful, etc.

Of all the people who have come and gone, which one has left you with the impression of being the real deal, nothing phoney or fabricated, just genuinely sincere.

I'll go with Adstar. I don't think there is anything pretentious about him. I've never seen him waver or change his stance. He is unmistakeably God's true soldier on these forums. I may disagree entirely with him but he is a man of conviction. Unshakeable in his belief. I don't know if I should admire or feel sorry for him.

If I've been fooled then so be it. Won't be the last time.

I usually just assume everyone really is the way they portray themselves here. Except mayb Draqon... does he really live in a tent in a park in Seattle? Maybe, maybe not...

The only person I can be absolutely sure is the real deal is Nietzsche, since I live with him. So you can be almost sure I am the real deal too
because I doubt he would sit back and let me tell all kinds of lies about myself, or post pictures that really weren't me.

Im actually a little more shy and quiet here than I am in real life. But for the most part, I stick to my guns here and am not very different at all.

Take my choice Adstar for example. I think he would, without hesitation, stand up in the middle of a room full of atheists or stand on the corner of the busiest street in America and not be afraid to say exactly what's on his mind without fear of derision or embarassment. He'd be the guy holding the Jesus Saves sign outside of a federal prison while an execution is taking place for a child murderer inside.

For the majority of us, we are not so inclined. It is much easier to spout an opinion on a faceless forum. There is no doubt in my mind that people feel secure in whatever comment they make on the internet because there is no fear of embarassment. Its like kids that you thought were complete nobodies in HS going off to university and coming home fully adjusted with a new confidence and character.

I think it much harder then to select a person from the forum who you think is genuine. How would you know when you 've found him/her? You really can never know for sure. You have to have read many posts and developed that gut feeling about whether someone is genuine.

I think one particular poster comes across as bitchy as in real life. I think this person's only friends are on this board.

Draqon is much much much more outgoing here than in real life. On this board he talks to women.

I think Oli, Varda, Xev, Visceral Instinct, BentheMan, and Luci are genuine.

Some are more aggressive here than in real life.
I think a few others are flat out fakes.

Since it's clear that I'm not here to make friends (lots of those in "real life") or trying to sell anything, it should be equally as clear that I have no agenda and present myself just as I am.

I reckon most people here speak their mind and have been around long enough to realise that portraying as someone else is less fun that letting your real ego have its say in an anonymous ( if slightly familiar ) forum.
There are a few ( Kadark for example) who let their repressed, blustering side get the better of them and trumpet shit 'til the cows come home. A few others get their aggression out here but I really think it's mostly honest

are the real deal too but they don't post as much and it is harder to come to that conclusion just based on a few random posts.
