Active atheist in Whitehorse. Come visit the new FB page: Northern Free Thinkers. I've had this conversation with many locally, but find that many people claiming «not religiously affiliated» are in fact just saying it to be «modern» like... but actually most are obsessed with «spirituality» or Buddhism, or Humanism, which I consider no better at creating a quality life for all life forms than other religions have had. They're each self centred and perpetuate the same raping-colonialist attitude that has permeated the last 2000 years of human history. Asian religions/philosophies have not achieved better societies than judeo-christian societies, so I fail to see peoples' fascination with those.
