However, there is already a report feature... So it's kinda extraneous, I suppose.

I think the icon is fine. However, if we cannot give warnings, then we need to get rid of the "yellow" card.

The funny thing about his is that I do not think he is a spammer but just a guy wanting to share his enjoyment of making money on the Internet. However, as a new member it is not right for him to create threads like this as it's a quick way to get banned.

i agree, ive reported spam on numerous occasions, however i chose to give an infraction as it has that extra embaressment factor

How can you say the icon is fine? It stands out in the field of grey like an eyesore.

Just one problem though.
Reporting sends a report directly to the moderator.
Adding an infraction to the user does no such thing.
Reporting spam gets results.
Adding an infraction only adds points towards action.

Something understated. I'm not adept in icon design, I'm afraid. So can't really offer an alternative.
Maybe a small grey whistle?

It probably depends on your screen resolution. On my screen, I barely notice the icon because it's so small (1680x1050 resolution). And I admt that I have yet to hand out a single infraction. The few times I have wanted to, some other mod already got their hands on them.

 

thats pretty dangerous, the only way to be sure of having an infraction to be overturned is to appeal to the admins directly?

 

ahhh imagine if sderenzi was still here...the number of infractions he wud have received....heh heh....

 

I do not know if mods themselves can remove infractions, but I have asked the admins if such a feature can be added... we'll see.
