The evidence is mounting, and more and more scientists are summoning up the courage to come forward and commit the unthinkable heracy. Denying the validity of anthropogenic global warming.

I predict another stalemate for this thread regarding the extent of human culpability - and that all the in-fighting won't save a single drowned polar bear. But good luck everyone.

global warming.... should cause an ice age..

which would cause the equator... to blossom.

the equator... is full of arab nations... in the desert.

    like saudi arabia...

it was grassland during the last ice age.

and opec... is the one burning down the rain forests... eh.

ITS NOT BEING DONE AS A MISTAKE.

No hard evidence. Just an editorial.

The facts against global warming just don't exist.

You're right about that article. I just loved the quote about global warming being the greatest hoax in history. But evidence is mounting that climate is driven not by CO2 levels, but by solar activity. Here's some evidence.

Even more convincing is this graph:

You notice that the graph of solar activity and temperature are almost exactly the same.

    Here's a bunch more:

    how is it a hoax????

sure, global warming is a natural process but its the Enhanced Global Effect thats the problems....global temperature is increasing (according to all the ice cores taken etc)...even if only by a little.

if you think the temperature only has to decrease by 2 degrees to throw us into an ice age, increasing it by 2 degrees will also have massive effects

apparently by 2100 the sea level would have rised from anywhere between 13cm-98cm dependin how optimistic you are!!!.....which is kinda a masssssssssssive difference.....but you get the idea!!!

lets shove the guy who said it doesnt exist somewhere like Bangladesh...and then when it floods he can say if he's changed his mind or not! hahahaha!

That's still indirectly man-made. There would not be all those cows if we didn't raise them (and burn down forests to create fields to feed them).

Yes Global warming is a hoax, designed to lay blame on everyone... instead of where it really should be laid...upon the Big Oil corporations.

Al Gore, Bush etc are all oil men and money talks and rules, OK?

LOL but the bubble is about to burst and we the people must take matters into our own hands.

Rise up lads, if you aren't impotent

If Al Gore is aligned to big oil, why would be spread the global warming message?
Big oil couldn't sell their products if no one bought.
But you are right, the peak has passed, the long emergency has begun.

Didn't I see an news article that said he gets some $250,000 per appearance? Ain't that a lot of incentive?

What would you say/claim/spread if someone paid you $250,000 each time you said it? I mean, probably in your case, you could take that money and give it to the poor and homeless and uninsured, right?

I certainly don't see how you could call it an "emergency", do you? I mean, ....seriously??

Yes, it will be a Long Emergency. Our economy has been based on cheap fuel for more than 50 years. Our adjustment will be harsh.

I think Big Oil would be happy to pay Al Gore even more than that to NOT appear.

Oh, c'mon, Spider, you know as well as anyone that big oil companies have no fear of Al Gore or global warming alarmists. We'll be using oil and coal for 50 more years and you know it!

Why the alarmist bullshit when we all know that we just can't stop on a dime? Even the most avid scientist say that even if we stop everything right now, it'll be at least a century for any changes to be noticed.

Emergency? No, I don't think so. Slow weaning, perhaps, but emergency???

That's why it's the long emergency. We should be preparing, but we are only investing further in defending the oil rich regions. Soon, it will no longer be cost effective to use oil as we have, and that changes everything. It may still be around.

It's up to you to decide if Al Gore is sincere. I think he has plenty of money already.

    >> If Al Gore is aligned to big oil, why would be spread the global warming message?

Oh I C, Maybe Gore is a ture believer, but I wonder.....

    I found this
    >> In 1988, NASA’s top climate scientist, James Hansen, testified before Congress that he was “99 percent sure” that human-induced global warming was underway. His words made the front page of the Times and marked the entrance of global warming into mainstream public discussion. The following year, Al Gore called Hansen to testify again; this time, the first Bush Administration forced him to alter his prepared statement. A furious Gore called the incident “science fraud” perpetrated by the “Science Politburo of the Bush Administration.” >>

But Global Warming is a myth... Global drying is occurring at an ever increasing pace. (The apparent warming is just a lack/thinning of cloud cover)

Now it Global Warming is pushed as per Al Gore, then we are all to blame....
but it is myth anyway, so carbon trading is a money making proposition....
Its called smoke and mirrors and it diverts attention away from Big Oil, and we the public are all sad we never did the right thing in the past.... LOL

Now if anyone believed that it was a micro layer of petroleum oil, then Big Oil is to solely to blame and it would break them. I am sure they are desperately trying to find alernatives to get their paws into, but they are buying time.

The sky was once filled with cloud, sometimes the cloud was so thick the sky was black.

Now day after day clear skies dominate.

You can feel the temperature difference between a clear sky day and a cloudy day.

On a clear sky day you can feel the sunshine burning your skin, making you feel uncomfortable and driving you into shade. And yet the air temperature in the shade seems so cold and uninviting.

In the past on a cloudy day the occasional break in the clouds allowed sunshine to fall on your skin, but then it was so comfortable and comforting. You could sun-bake and feel good.

At night clear skies allow atmospheric heat to rapidly escape to space, so the nights become a deep freeze.

In the day clear skies bake the ground along with all life forms.

So the days become hot and the nights freezing.

    Man what have you done?

!!!!!!!!Shut up IRU, you will be nobbled.

2500 scientists and at least 500 separate scientific studies disagree with you - as recently cited in a comprehensive UN report on the question.

It dose not mater if it is a haox. We know full well that we can destroy the very planet we stand on. Over 50% of the worlds forest have been cut down with very large portions expected to die off from changes in the climate. I have known for ages that we are coming out of a cooler time and it is getting wormer. So far the "Global Warming" campian has been used to do alot to slow our damaging habits and get all to figure out how to live with the rest of the world.

We learned to make armies of cars, we learned to make huge buildings, and massive indestry. That is all very cool. But it is time we learned how to do all these things without killing off our planet while we are at it.

It may be fun to say "Global Warming is a haox" but it has gotten thru better then other things that are realy killing us and get droped. And finding out that the planet is getting warmer on its own does not mean we are not helping it. We could very well be snowballing the effect.
