Hardly, have you ever heard of the promise god made to people directly related to David?

    Very good statement.

Well, there is a rather long story behind it. But I will give you the basic idea behind it.

God made a promise to King David that whoever is to come out of the house of david is to be givin into the promised land.

Think on the words of Jesus to certain of the Pharisees who thought that because they were of Abraham's seed, they were guaranteed a place in heaven:

    Luke 3:8,9
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, we have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Jesus is saying that without good works, we cannot think that we will be saved just because we are Abraham's children.

Believe what you want. I believe you are mistaken, but you don't have to take my word for it.

I like WildBlueYonder’s (WBY) way of thinking. The ten lost tribes of Israel began, thinking logically, soon after Solomon died when the tribes of Israel broke up into Judah, and Benjamin, which were also known as the remnant, leaving the other ten tribes called Israel, who generally speaking went astray. The lost tribes of Israel were never physically lost, instead psychologically, and spiritually they became lost. That is why it is called a myth story, as there is a deeper spiritual reason behind it. The simple conclusion to what makes up the “Ten lost tribes” is arrived at in the same manner of thinking like done by WBY, where he deduced that the native Americans are not the ancestors of the ten lost tribes as told by the Mormons. My angle on the Mormons, and debunking their claim is simply another approach. The Mormons do other nutty things that go against the Bible. Mormons say marriage is consummated for life, and continues in the hereafter for eternity, whereas Jesus said when we die we are like the angels that do not marry. Also the Mormons baptize other people by proxy who they say have not heard the preaching of the gospel of Jesus, so those people who are dead, their spirits can have the choice of believing or not. However, Jesus preaches reincarnation, for in the first sentence of Matthew it logically says he was in one life Isaac, and in the next Solomon, and finally he was called Jesus. A little simple logic tells us who Jesus was in his past lives. There are many other places Jesus teaches reincarnation, but this is not a book, just a brief note on the subject. Being able to actually have a repeated opportunity to decide, up to a point, also shows that baptism by water is worthless for even Peter in 1 Peter 3:20 said it is of no value, but a good conscience toward God is what saves us. Those are three strikes against Mormons, and they are out.

I haven't seen WBY for some time. You are responding to a thread that's a year old.

According to Matthew 1 it's a genealogy. All it logically says is who preceded whom by birth. According to Hebrews 9:27, "...man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." If that weren't true, salvation would come through 'living until you got it right' - not by God's grace. And Jesus' death on the cross wouldn't have been a ransom paid (Matt. 20:28).

  15. I be busy, classes & all
it’s hard memorizing stuff that’s hard

BTW, I intend on getting a PhD in archeology, then go digging in Mexico, trying to prove the BoM true, I'll bet I should get countless millions from those poor mormons, hopelessly dreaming that someone somewhere will prove it true, is that scamming? or just a little bit icky I guess? I‘m looking for the Marriotts or BYU to sponsor me

I guess I'll be like Joseph Smith & his treasure digging past, he never found any, but sure dug all over NE

  16. Jesus said a lot of things, you can not cherry pick just what you want to prove your point,
Jesus also said that in heaven there would be no marriage, oops, mormons are wrong

Jesus said that we must be born again,
that if we don't give up everything for Him, we are not worthy of Him,
see the "parable of the Pearl of Great Price", title’s catchy, no?

BTW, isn't this where we left off a year & 1/2 ago?

dogs were whistlen a new tune, barking and the new moon, hoping it would come soon, so that they could die.

  18. Not only do you need help in getting out of Mormonism, you need a few tips on poetry, you start with rhyme & then end in free verse? Tsk-tsk.

    Could I suggest this ending?

dogs were whistlen a new tune,
    barking and the new moon,
    hoping it would come soon,
    so that they could swoon.

yeah in the same way the christain church is, or methodist church is, i come from a big mormon family and i married into one aswell,

  20. though I can’t speak for “Chistains” being a cult, Methodism started in England with John & Charles Wesley, as a reform movement. If you meant to type “christian”, then that is a general term for those that believe in Christ, of which Methodists are a subset, as is the Church of England, they all follow basic teachings that put them within Christianity.

Unfortunately for them, mormons do not fit into Christianity, they postulate several positions that are beyond the pale of any historic understanding of Christianity, be it ancient or recent.

    They claim:
    1) they are a restoration of the first primitive church
    2) that Native American Indian Peoples are the remnant of Jewish retrogrades
    3) that Joseph Smith was a prophet
    4) that the Book of Mormon is scripture
    5) that doing works get you into heaven
    6) that god was once a man that progressed into godhood
    7) that Lucifer is Jesus’ brother
    8) that the garden of Eden had been near Far West, Missouri, USA
    9) that Masonic rituals were really
    10) that the mormon church is the only true church

    short refutations of LDS claims
    1) there are no examples of any early church following mormon doctrine, or LDS temple-like buildings
    2) DNA, linguistics & archeology prove that the native peoples of the Western Hemisphere originated in Siberia
    3) Mr. Smith made at least 64 prophecies, 58 that did not “come to pass”, just 1 wrong makes you a false prophet
    4) No part of the BoM can pass the test of real history, no BoM sites have ever been found, no peoples, no “Reformed Egyptian” language. even the LDS church doesn’t follow any of the ideas in the BoM except saying that it proves Mr. Smith was a prophet, if that were true, why does the BoM contradict LDS teaching?
    5) Jesus, the early church & the Reformation clearly teaches that “Salvation is by Faith” alone, Luther found this & so reformed the church closer to the primitive
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
    6) the Bible clearly teaches that God is spirit, only Jesus took on the flesh, to die for us
    7) Lucifer is a fallen angel, Jesus is God
    8) The location of Eden is unknown, but the Bible mentions the Euphrates, see Gen 2:8-15
    9) Mr. Smith became a Mason, then stole their rituals & incorporated them into Mormonism’s temple rituals
    10) By the foregoing it proves to be a false church, a cult with its own very unchristian beliefs

Lucifer’s Angel would be a demon, not a pretty sight

i was extremely active in the church, but now i cant belive i had a bad expierince within the church and i couldnt face going again,

and lucifers angel could be the little angel sitting on his shoulder trying to get him to do nice things!

  22. do you agree with any part of LDS teaching? how do you judge religious ideas, matters?
do you believe you will go to heaven?

could? so, is it smaller than the big demon on his other shoulder telling him to do BAD things? interesting picture

oh, you may want to cut most of my quote from your quote, I think people only need to know what part you are responding to, if all, 3 dots will do, like so,

i dont know what parts to believe (to be open and honest), i dont think heaven exisists like we are led to believe, right now i think when we die we just lie there, with people morning us when we leave them.

i do ahve one big question though, the church belives we shouldnt drink, but god drank wine, so what should i believe. all three of my children are blessed by church members and perhaps they are missing out on a big part of growing up but they havent even shown any interest in going to church.

i live my life like i think i should, i dont smoke, i do drink coffee and i do drink (not to excess may i add) i was told because of a thing in my private life i will go to hell for, the bishop told me that.
