For some reason crazy people and weird men are always attracted to me, and its bloody doing my head in. My friends have pointed out that the only reason they come and bother me is because i have a friendly face and i'm too much of a pussy to tell them to piss off.

Today was seriously the last straw. I was on a bus heading to uni and this woman with a matted blonde weave, smeared red lipstick and wearing a pink diamond rodeo hat and even though there were loads of empty seats, she came and sat right next to me.

She started talking immediately. She told me that a man offered her £3,000 to 'jump her bones' and that she used to charge her clients half a million a night and kept on reiterating how beautiful she was.

Then she grabbed my hand and how told me how god had special plans for me and that i shouldn't let any man touch and abuse me. Plus on the way home i saw the drunk pervert who always harrasses and follows me, fortunately i found a place to hide.

I know they need help and they are not blameworthy, but its making me a bit scared and uncomfortable about going out .

Seriously How do you stop weird and crazy people from talking to you?????? And if they do start talking to you, how do you get out of it???

two problems in your story: the friend of yours who sells herself for money

crazy and weird people: what you perceive people as is different from who they truly are

    ----and finally a resolution----

    What do you wear?
Do you wear clothes/makeup to attract males or females?

Sometimes being the nice guy(person) isn't always the best way of dealing with certain people, sometimes you just have to shirk them. The problem in the case with these people you keep bumping into is they have identified that you are friendly to them, which leads them to believe that they can approach you.

Now you could attempt the tell them outright, 'go speak to someone else' attitude with them, however this could encourage a worse reaction. Usually the more pacifistic approach is more appropriate, change your going out patterns, head out earlier, go meet up with friends first or change your destination completely.

If you give those people a wide enough berth then you should find they forget about who you are and that your 'safe to talk to' and they'll leave you alone.

This is the story of my life! I seem to attract alot of weirdos.(mostly men)
I think its for the same exact reason. I have a friendly face and won't
come out and tell someone to fuk off. I have been followed in stores a few times. Some weirdos will just keep talking to me even though I am trying to ignore them and walk away.

I find it very hard to be impolite to strangers, and they take advantage of that.

OMG!! I think we are soulmates! lol
I would have gotten off the bus at a stop that wasn't mine just to avoid hurting her feelings. I've learned the hard way not to make eye contact.
Maybe have your ipod or mp3 player and wear headphones. Then when they start talking to you, you have a valid excuse for not listening.

Can you tell the drunk that your boyfriend is a jealous cop and he will make his life miserable. And out of concern for his own safety you are letting him know that your boyfriend watches?? Yep, I'd lie and lie not to hurt even a drunk pervs feelings.

    I feel for ya.

You shouldn't act shifty in stores, especially around small expensive items that could be easily concealed on your way out. j/k

Stalkers are bad, I being a man haven't had many but I can't say I've never had any. When I use to walk home late at nights back from clubs there use to be women walking home too, I didn't like walking behind them because I felt it probably played on their nerves so would proceed to walk fast, cross the road to the other side before I reach them and then continue to walk faster passed.

This probably un-nerved them more, however I wasn't exactly going to stop and ask "does my walking fast, crossing the road and ignoring, you bother you at all?" otherwise I guess I'd a get a weird man label too. lol

this is all psychological woman mind, it perceives people that associate with them as weirdos. Anyone who doesn't have money, is a weirdo...to women. Anyone who doesn't drive a Jaguar is a weirdo...but wait some women say a latest BMW is just as good...

It the same as using "cute"....labeling cute that which suits them. Thus they label weirdos as those who do not suit their ideological needs.

Why are they weirdos? - I mean why do you class them as weirdos?
Merely because they don't fit into the box you think they should?

    Do you know their stories?
Their reasons for being the way they are?

People like that are generally quite interesting to talk to (although some of them are a little way off the beaten track).

LOL.......I mean a man ending up in every isle I am in at the grocery store.
Starring while pretending to put something in his cart. Then just happens to finish when I do and picks the same cashier as me. Then starts some small talk.

Last yr my neighbour and I went jogging at night ( there is a park by our house) it has lights around it. This guy was kinda walking around the field.
As I started running closer I thought what is he doing, he was behind a few pine trees. I pretended not to see but noticed out of the corner of my eye he was whacking off. Lets say I picked up the pace a bit.......lol Then when I got around the other side and was heading back around he took off running. (THATS A WEIRDO)

Are you serious Oli!? THAT is a weirdo. Does she need to be wearing a "I'm a weirdo" sign for you to be able to tell what one is?
Anyone that makes me feel uncomfortable is a weirdo. They seem to all go on Jerry Springer.

Generally, they smell. Or try to touch you.

Mentally ill/drunken ramblings are way less interesting than you imply.
Read anything Dragon posts. It's cute for awhile, more for the reactions than anything else, but ultimately - "crazy talk" is only interesting when the person behind it is marginally intelligent.

Nah, that's somebody with a story to tell, or an opinion that differs from most.

Then again, the first words out anyone's mouth upon meeting me are "You're weird, you are"... ever since I was a small kid.

    Nope they're just socially-unaware egotists.

    Bad hygiene = weird?

I have people touching me all the time: maybe I should label 90% of the population weird.

    Drunk, not interesting.
Mentally ill can be, but are they not human too?
    Pfft, I'll chat with anyone.
I visited my mother (erm, observation - extreme grief over dad's death, not exactly loopy) over the last couple of weeks: they had some genuine cases in there.
Still human, still people, still need communication.
Easy, ten minutes chatting and they're happy for the rest of the day.
Does it really take so much from a person to spend some time talking to some one else?

Faux-crazy talk palls after a while, too predictable.
Marginally intelligent? Marginal by who's standards?

First of all: remember to be kind to crazy people - you never know when they will go postal. Second, just ignore them the best you can without pissing them off.

Remember people, do document every assault on you. If a woman pepper sprays you jsut because she was afraid, than report on her, and take the case to court, sue her.

Its called a preemptive strike. The government has provided a legal basis for such an attack.

Your post reminded me of a scene in that movie Billy Madison. Where Adam Sandler called Steve Buscemi's character(who is a complete whacko) and apologized for picking on him in high school. Steve's character accepted the apology and when they hung up, he crossed Billy Madison's name off a list on his wall that said People To Kill. Then he laid back and started putting on lipstick.

Please cite sources if you're going to make that claim. Especially considering that your unsupported statement could cover more than one country (which in case you didnt' know, one country can have different laws than another).
