    Holy Cheese Box, Batman!

You know, I once knew a woman who couldn't stand the word "vagina". Too clinical and creepy. She was a co-worker, though, and our boss wouldn't let us use any number of colloquial words for it. So we invented new ones: phole (F-hole), slicker, lair, monster, and, since we worked in a pizza joint, cheese box. Our coworker thought cheese box was great.

Seriously, if you stick certain words in certain places (heh-heh ... heh) it becomes all too clear what they mean.

My favorite, though, comes from Alice Cooper's "Why Trust You": You can stuff it up your muffin and go stick it in the fire!

I still use that phrase from time to time, both whole and in parts. People might scratch their heads, but when you tell them to "Go stick it in the fire," they generally know they've been insulted.

Of course, the whole "muffin top" episode of Seinfeld takes on a transcendent aspect because of that.

Can we still use twat? Twitch? Clam? Gaped Crusader?

What do you hate about it? It's just a word - a linguistic tool - like any other. It seems to me that people object to it more because to do so is culturally and historically ingrained than for any other reason.

Because if anyone ever came up to me and said "You C***" they aren't meaning it as a compliment. Its a crude insult and I don't like it.

It's just one of those things that came up. There was a time when I had cool co-workers. I remember one night we closed up shop after eight hours together and, still reeking of pineapple and onions, took off in search of haunted houses. I drove one car, with Dragon, Spin, and Vicki (the vaginaphobe), and one of our bosses drove another car ... jeez, who rode with him? It was hilarious, though, because that guy was a skeptic and atheist, and he was the first to get hit by the creepy sensation at Devil House. We caught up to him later at Vista House, drank coffee, and listened to him explain how he'd never felt anything like that before.

Incidentally, the boss who wouldn't let us use certain words didn't actually care. It was one of those things he had to actually say something about. He loved cheese box.

And most people would react similarly when they feel they're being denigrated, and rightly so. It's not always used in an insulting context though - but always seem to draw strong reactions, no matter what the context. And I can't see any rational, um.. reason for it.

Anyway, words like cxnt and fxck and bxtch have all lost their impassioned appeal here for the want of being parroted for no good reason other than to annoy or to sound excessively über-urban.

It would of been more appropriate to simply edit out the offending language rather than handing out an infraction to a long standing member . And as for children reading this forum sciforums is aimed at university students .

I don't think an infraction for saying 'cunt' is legitimate.
But, I guess while 'cunt' is randomly verboten, 'pissing' is perfectly ok?

Is there a list of words that are ok and not ok?
