Pseudoscience media alert (Australians only): Today Tonight is running a piece on "magnetic water" in tonight's show (Monday April 7, 2008). The advertisement seemed to indicate that they have "scientific proof" that the water in question makes plants grow better than ordinary water. I don't know if I'll see it or not. Would anyone like to take notes on the story?
I will if i remember to put the tv on and watch... I bet the "scientific proof" is dubious at best Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
umm all water could be concidered to some exstent "magnetic" Thats because H20 is a polor molicule and if you run a streem of water (from a tap) and bring a static charge near it the water streem will bend (like the image of a fork in a glass of water actually) I know this because i have actaully done it (in bioscience) I surpose you could put more iron in the water to make it more "magnetic" which may in deed help plants grow (some plants need LOTS of iron like spinch) I guess it depends what they are talking about, i guess i will leave my discust of watching "current afairs" shows on commertial TV at the door and watch this one to seePlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Could it also be that these farmers used better fertilizers also along with this water? They don't let you know that do they.
Magnets are always the secret ingredient in all these cooky schemes, probably because few people understand how they work.
I've got some swamp land that I'm certain will grow stuff very big and very large crops for sale. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
cosmic actually i think its a case that they are getting a higher water alocation than there nabors because they are getting it as part of this "trial" We are in the worst drought in 1000 years after all
