This is a long post I realize, but read through it, I promise you'll find it VERY interesting/entertaining! Can you remember the events of the infinite amount of time which existed before you were born? No, of course not, and during this time, nebula's formed suns, suns exploded forming nebula's, planets were created, oceans assembled. And how long did it take? Billions of years, and yet for you, (a finite universe within an infinite universe) these things took no time at all! You were born, and wha-la, all things were just there! The creation of planet Earth happened in a "conscious-instant" the day you were born! If there is an after-life (and I think there is) it will be one of two options:THE Eternal being set into action an incomprehensibly advanced and practical way to allow for the lives we've experienced on Earth to be kept through some advanced means, to continue forward with the knowledge we've gained. OR, if there is no Eternal Being (very unlikely) the INSTANT you die you will be reborn into a new form of life since the time between a non-sensory existence to a sensory existence is zero. EXAMPLE: You slip into a coma, 40 years of dreamless sleep, you wake up, you're old... while we can say you traveled around the sun 40 times while you were asleep, if you weren't awake to experience this, you may as well have slipped into a time machine where 40 years equals just a few seconds, or perhaps less. If your atomic matter happens to be formed as grass after your body decomposes, then you won't know it, the only time you WILL know you're alive, is if and when "your" atomic matter forms into something which is advanced enough to be self-aware, in that instance however, it wouldn't be "you" since all memories would be erased, truly, the most privileged atomic matter is the stuff which makes up your brain, what percentage of atomic matter in the universe gets to become a human brain? Likely something like .0000000000000000000000000000000000001% gets to become a self aware brain, and yet, even though the absolutely staggering amount of trillions of trillions of trillions of years it may take for that same atomic matter to form into another self aware creature those years will indeed equal LESS THAN zero, since the passing of that time will not be taken into account by atomic matter that is not arranged to comprehend time. Thus if there isn't an Eternal Being, you will be deleted and reincarnated the moment you die, if there is an Eternal Being, you will be passed on into the next realm, the key here is that LIFE GOES ON! I don't even have a reliable measure of time passing when I'm asleep. What makes you think people have a good sense of it when they're in a coma? Experiments in which people have been carefully sequestered with no way to detect the passage of time show that we don't even have a very good sense of it when we're awake. I can't find much on this topic by Googling. What little there is seems to indicate that the statistical outliers (people who survive and wake up after several years, against all odds) are extremely disoriented and can't believe so much time has passed. One fellow was hit by a train in communist Poland in the 1980s when food was rationed, and woke up 19 years later to find Poland in NATO and the people walking around talking on cell phones. Do you have evidence that humans actually have internal clocks, much less reasonably accurate ones? I'm not finding any.
