I was reading about Beth Ditto because I recently heard some music by Gossip and it was interesting. She is a lesbian in a relationship with a transman. WHAT? How is she a lesbian if she is in a relation ship with a person with male parts? Are you a lesbian if the person used to be a woman and is no longer a woman?
Most testosterone addled straight guys would say yes, but I think most gay men would say no (Superstring C/D?). Reading Dan Savage, he makes the point that gay men aren't interested in breasts, so they wouldn't be interested in a partner that had them. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I certainly think she is more attractive that Rosie O'Donnell, who was born a woman.
I would say so. Would you be interested in a "man" who looked like Candis Cayne? Edit: I just had a look at Beth Ditto. There's another woman that Candis Cayne is more attractive than. And she doesn't shave her pits, or use deodorant? You ladies are welcome to her. I'll say this much for Ellen Degeneres - she has good taste in women. So being in a relationship with a woman who used to be a man is a lesbian relationship And being with a man who used to be a woman is a lesbian relationship. But a man being in a relationship with Candis Cayne is not a gay relationship. If a guy was in a relationship with a man who used to be a woman, would that be gay? OMG!! I'm so confused!
If you are a man, and you find this "woman" (FTM Buck Angel) attractive: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! you might just be gay. I don't think the fact that he has a vagina changes that.
And a study begins to confirm what observation has long told us - that sexual attraction works differently for women than men. http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2007/12/30/qa_with_lisa_diamond/?page=1
That makes sense yes. I dont think woman have any distinct orientation...although they may commit themselves to heterosexuality for the sake of a family life with children.
Where they together before the sex change? If a woman is in a relationship with a transman then I would say the relationship would be straight.
I never understood why Buck just never had the complete surgery. But I suppose its his money maker, so why mess with a good thing.
That's what I thought. Lesbians confuse me. I have a friend who is a lesbian who always dates the most masculine women I have ever met. Why not just date a guy?
Orleander why do you care? What is so important about lables anyway? They are with someone they love and care about so leave them to it and stop sticking your nose into other peoples bedrooms
Why do I care? I don't care about them personally. :bugeye: I need clarification as to what the word means. I thought it meant women who had sex with women. This is a woman having sex with a man. Would it make sense for your girlfriend to say she was a lesbian? That's why I was asking, clarification of the word.
Frankly it falls under the category "fucked up". Yes, there is such a category even nowadays, and that is in fact "FUCKED UP".
There are lots of people who are bisexual. They may have a preference for one sex over the other, so they're likely to be labeled according to that preference. But it's not an exclusive preference. Also they may toggle back and forth from predominantly straight to predominantly gay a couple of times in their life. (This is undoubtedly where the religionists get their preposterous myth that they can "cure" homosexuality. They just talk people into doing something they don't object to even if it's not their first choice.) Surveys give different statistics for bisexuality, but it's clearly no less than one percent for both males and females in Western culture. That means there are more bisexual people in the USA than the population of New Hampshire.
